WITCHER EPIC TV SERIES
SEASON 2 TRAILER IS HERE
At last night's Tudum event, where Netflix announced a number of its upcoming epic delights, there were some really bad things (like the atrociously cheap looking opening sequence for their new science fiction adventure series Cowboy Bebop, which left us stunned and not in a good way - da hell was that
cheap ass trash?) and some really nice ones (a rather nice first teaser trailer for their ambitious Valhalla series, a prequel to Vikings, which offered us a glorious look on our boo Leo Suter as Viking king, oh be still our beating
hearts). But the highlight of the event was probably their most watched series ever THE WITCHER for which we got a long new trailer reminding us of
what we've seen in the first season and what is coming up in the second one, and also a few clips revealing some new characters such as the hog looking Nivellen played by Kristofer Hivju.
Second season arrives December 17th at Netflix |
Henry Cavill returns to the role of Geralt of Rivia |
Kim Bodnia will be Vesemir, Geralt's mentor |
IN THE SEASON TWO OF THE WITCHER convinced sorceress Yennefer’s
(criminally terrible Anya Chalotra) life was lost at the Battle of Sodden, Geralt
of Rivia (Henry Cavill) brings Princess Cirilla of Cintra (Freya Allen)
to the safest place he knows, his childhood home of Kaer Morhen where
Witchers have their headquarters. While the Continent’s kings, elves,
humans, and demons strive for supremacy outside its walls, he must
protect the girl from something far more dangerous: the mysterious power
she possesses inside.
NEW SEASON STARTS DECEMBER
Beside showing a clip in which executive producer Declan de Barra introduced us to the sets of the Witcher spin off series Blood Origin, which is currently in production over in Ireland following the rise of demon hunters
Witchers, they also released a first look on Geralt's old mentor Vesemir, played by Kim Bodnia, with whom Geralt's and Ciri's paths will cross. With
Kristofer Hivju will be the charming Nivellen |
the second season arriving December 17th with six new episodes, it was also revealed that the series has been greenlit for third season as well! Beside MyAnna Buring as high witch Tissaia, and Joey Batey as the annoying minstrel Jaskier, the cast of the second season will also have some new faces
in Paul Bullion, Yasen Atour, Agnes Bjorn, Basil Eidenbenz, Aisha Fabienne Ross, Mecia Simson and others. It was also announced that the future will bring us a family friendly Witcher spin off series as well!
Not really my kind of show..but my husband might enjoy it.
ReplyDeleteHasn't he seen the first season?
DeleteOh man, I've been waiting for this! Cannot wait to watch the second season.
ReplyDeleteHope it will be better than the first one, but the trailer still gives a cheap feeling, sadly.
DeleteI gave up on watching this one and instead will watch All Creatures Great and Small! My daughter has a written reminder that we must watch it. I expect we will start it in October.
ReplyDeleteI'm currently downloading the second season which started in UK two weeks ago.
DeleteI still haven't watched the first season. I'll probably say that again by season 3 LOL. I am hoping to start back to binge watching shows after the holidays.
ReplyDeleteThat is a far fetched plan indeed if there ever was one LOL
DeleteI finished NORTH WATER this week and I'm finishing THE UNDOING next week, so I will have two empty spots soon, don't know whether to fill it with ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, LA BREA, NINE PERFECT STRANGERS or FOUNDATION, it is such a predicament, indeed.
Oooh, do 9 Perfect Strangers and lmk how that goes. I'll be traveling starting in 2 weeks for out of town craft fairs and I'll need something to watch in the hotel. This one was at the top of my Hulu list.
DeleteIt does not have a lot of episodes so it is very practical to watch. THE UNDOING was really really good, I really like it, hope the ending is not stupid, but each episode ends with a shock.
