News coming from Ireland is that Gabriel Beristain has cast Jack Hudson as the lead in historical series THE RATH AND THE ROCK about 16th Century Irish chieftain Uaithne mac Ruairí Ó Mórdha.
Jack Hudson will take the lead role
Hudson will play the charismatic and audacious Gaelic chieftain and rebel also known as Owney O’More in a sweeping story of the brutal Tudor Conquest of Ireland, spanning 1520 to 1653! The series will follow the fates of Irish Chieftains, English royals, ambitious nobles, the infamous pirate queen Grace O’Malley and the ordinary people caught in the crossfire. It will explore the intertwined destinies of pivotal Irish families, including the O’Mores, O’Neills, O’Donnells and O’Malleys, as they fight against the overwhelming forces of the Tudor monarchy!
As Variety reports, Kirsten Sheridan is set to direct a movie adaptation of Anne Chambers' book GRACE O'MALLEY: THE BIOGRAPHY OF IRELAND'S PIRATE QUEEN. The story will chronicle the extraordinary true story of a meeting between Queen Elizabeth I, the most powerful ruler in British history, and the fearless 16th century Irish rebel pirate Grace O’Malley (Granuaile). When her youngest son is taken prisoner, Grace sails right up the Thames to confront Queen Elizabeth directly. Over the course of just one week, these leaders of two warring nations question each other’s identity, pierce each other’s wounds, win each other’s respect, and come together as equals to define not only their nations, but their most intimate selves.

Faced with the current strike of writers which could continue for a long time, NBC at least won't have to worry about their comedy hour as they've just added EXTENDED FAMILY multicamera sitcom to their Autumn schedule and it has been ordered to series long time ago. It will join their break out hit Night Court on Tuesday nights. Starring Jon Cryer, EXTENDED FAMILY is a new multicam comedy centered around the shifting family dynamics following a good-natured divorce — and the surprisingly hilarious moments that come with co-parenting. The gags on this comedy will be messy, endearing, and packed with hilarity, and you won't want to miss them! After an amicable divorce, Jim and Julia (Abigail Spencer) decide to continue to raise their kids at the family home while taking turns on who gets to stay with them. Navigating the waters of divorce and child-sharing gets more complicated for Jim when Trey (Donald Faison), the owner of his favorite sports team, enters the picture and wins Julia’s heart. Episodes will also stream on Peacock a day after the premiere.
