THE RETURN REUNITES
RALPH FIENNES AND JULIETTE BINOCHE AFTER 20 YEARS
The film that has just been sold to USA, is a new retelling of Odysseus and his story with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche leading THE RETURN
movie. After 20 years away, Odysseus (Fiennes) washes up on the shores
of Ithaca, haggard and unrecognizable. The King has finally returned
home but much has changed in his kingdom since he left to fight in the
Trojan war.His beloved wife Penelope (Binoche)
is now a prisoner in her own home, hounded by her many ambitious
suitors to choose a new husband, a new king. Their son Telemachus (Charlie Plummer), who
has grown up fatherless, is facing death at the hands of the suitors who
see him as an obstacle in their relentless pursuit of Penelope and the
kingdom. Uberto Pasolino directs this spring.
ONE TRUE LOVES TRAILER
FIRST LOVE MEETS NEW LOVE
The movie arrives this April |
Not a fan of anything king and royal, but I adore Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche.
ReplyDeleteShould be an interesting one, even though Ralph does not look very Greek to me, and neither do Binoche and Plummer.
DeleteSounds a bit like Castaway. Tom Hanks wife chose the new husband. I bet she picks the fiance, too.
ReplyDeleteIt is such an impossible choice, but my opinion is that the new fiance needs to step away himself if he has any honour. Of course, if it was the choice between Luke and Simu I'd go poliamorous LOL
DeleteI don't know why the husband left in the first place, I didn't gather that from the trailer or maybe I missed it, but if it was for something stupid like scaling a mountain or jumping from a plane, he sent the message then and there that his sense of adventure was more important than staying alive for his wife. I'd go with the fiance, myself. But hey, if they both want to stay, why not? LOL
DeleteWell, if he was scaling a mountain than he should have stayed there.
