TONI COLLETTE
IS THE PRIMA DONNA
One of the new projects that will be shopped at European Film Market this year is THE PRIMA DONNA with Toni Collette in the lead role. Nathan
Silver's revenge thriller revolves around dysfunctional family dynamics, the dangers of ambition, and the lengths we will go to make our mark on the world.
Set in contemporary Rome, Collette will play a legendary opera diva who is about to step into the role of a lifetime just as her estranged daughter (Odessa Young) shows up at her doorstep, right out of rehab. An aspiring opera singer herself, the daughter summons up the courage to ask to be her mother’s understudy. When her mother callously dismisses the suggestion, she snaps and starts mulling the ultimate revenge, igniting a cut-throat battle of wills.

JIM BROADBENT TRAILER
FOR THE UNLIKELY PILGRIMAGE OF HAROLD FRY MOVIE
And here is a rather exclusive first trailer for THE UNLIKELY PILGRIMAGE OF HAROLD FRY
in which Jim Broadbent is an ordinary man who has passed through life, living on the side lines,
until he goes to post a letter one day… and just keeps walking. Fry
embarks on a 450-mile walk across the UK in the simple belief that his
journey will save the life
of his old friend who is dying in a hospice. Step by step, a spark is
ignited in Harold’s hibernating soul as he rediscovers the majesty of
the world, reflects on his mistakes, and finally gains the strength to
face the unspoken grief that has driven him and his wife, Maureen (Penelope Wilton),
apart. The walk becomes a pilgrimage that inspires people far and wide
but, more importantly, transforms Harold into a man who embraces the
value of friendship, humility, self-forgiveness, and kindness.
The movie should hit the cinemas late this April |
I still remember Toni Collette as the mother of the boy in the sixth sense...watched a couple of series from her, but don't remember them any more.
ReplyDeleteUnited States of Tara and recent Staircase were probably the most famous, and of course her first unforgettable movie MURIEL'S WEDDING.
DeleteOh, man! The trailer for Harold already has me crying. Thanks for much for sharing this because now I'll know to look for it. <3
ReplyDeleteYou can watch any of Broadbent's films, they all give similar feels and fun, THE DUKE, THE SENSE OF AN ENDING.... all lovely movies.
DeleteA revenge thriller is something I could get into watching.
ReplyDeleteWonder if any of them gets the role in the end.
DeleteI love thrillers very much :D
ReplyDeleteGlad to know.
DeleteI hope Queenie doesn't die before he reaches her. I feel this movie will have a powerful message attached. I resonated with him saying "let go of the things you thought you needed." That's been my motto for the past several months and I'm learning to love my life again. Family, friends, social media, stuff piling up in my house... things that weren't giving me peace, I've been slowly letting go of. Allison just told me to stop giving all of my stuff away because she wants to have a yard sale this spring. I was like, "no ma'am. If I see it and feel I don't need it, on my neighborhood freebie group it immediately goes for someone else to enjoy."
ReplyDeleteGeezuz, woman, you will leave your daughter without any inheritance LOOOOL I am glad you are at that point of your life when you are changing things to suit you better, especially as you are doing it before you hit your menopause. Just don't go crazy and make another baby or something LOL
DeleteThis is all connected with planets too, as we are in two or three years which are the years of change and the year when everything should come into its place.
I would like to get a regular job and for Leo Suter to propose to me finally. Or Sam Reid.
Good lord, no babies. Jason so kindly got himself fixed for that after we did an oops and got Allison LOL.
DeleteI will send out my wishes into the universe that the planets indeed align for you and you get that proposal from Suter or Reid. Or at the very least, a really good doppelganger of either.
Fingers crossed!
