BBC has released trailer from their upcoming new drama series THE GOLD starring Hugh Bonneville, Jack Lowden, Dominic Cooper, Charlotte Spencer, Tom Cullen, Emun Elliott, and Stefanie Martini!

six armed men broke into the Brink’s-Mat security depot near London’s Heathrow
Airport, and inadvertently stumbled across gold bullion worth £26m.
What started as 'a typical Old Kent Road armed robbery' according to
detectives at the time, became a seminal event in British criminal
history, remarkable not only for the scale of the theft - at the time
the biggest in global history - but for its wider legacy.
The disposal of the bullion caused the birth of
large-scale international money laundering, provided the dirty money that helped
fuel the London Docklands property boom, united blue and white collar
criminals and left controversy and murder in its wake.

Jack Lowden plays south London/Kent criminal Kenneth Noye who was involved in helping the robbers with the disposal of the gold bullion. Hugh Bonneville is Brian Boyce the top Met detective who heads up the
investigation by speical request of his superiors. Dominic Cooper is dodgy solicitor/businessman also caught up in schemes to hide and invest the money
raised by the stolen bullion. Charlotte Spencer is eager young detective Nicki Jennings who helps on the investigating team. Tom Cullen plays
criminal John Palmer while Emun Elliott stars as Met detective Tony Brightwell. Daniel Ings, Adam Nagaitis, Sam Spruell, are also in the cast!

Don't know any of the actor...I would enjoy the show for sure since I am a fan of detective story.
ReplyDeleteOh, Angie, what do you mean you do not know any of the actors, Bonneville, Dominic, Cullen and Lowden are the very cream of British actors and they have starred in tons of films and series. Bonneville is a living legend.
DeleteI'd never have the balls to steal, let alone that much gold. I even went and bought a case of beer to replace the few bottles that Jason drank in our AirBnb last week and those are actually for the taking. Sometimes the hosts are nice and leave beer, wine, frozen dinners, etc in the fridge for their guests. Even though they were meant for us, I didn't pay for them so I figured the right thing to do would be to replace what we used.

DeleteIndeed. Jason didn't understand why I was making such a big deal out of making sure we replaced what we used. "It's there for us to use!" I know this, but still. I mean, I didn't go nuts and buy more toilet paper at least. That, I let them take the hit on.
