RALPH FIENNES AND JULIETTE BINOCHE AFTER 20 YEARS

The film that has just been sold to USA, is a new retelling of Odysseus and his story with Ralph Fiennes and Juliette Binoche leading THE RETURN movie. After 20 years away, Odysseus (Fiennes) washes up on the shores of Ithaca, haggard and unrecognizable. The King has finally returned home but much has changed in his kingdom since he left to fight in the Trojan  war.His beloved wife Penelope (Binoche) is now a prisoner in her own home, hounded by her many ambitious suitors to choose a new husband, a new king. Their son Telemachus (Charlie Plummer), who has grown up fatherless, is facing death at the hands of the suitors who see him as an obstacle in their relentless pursuit of Penelope and the kingdom. Uberto Pasolino directs this spring.

Speaking of bad faith and love problems, you have abundance of those in the trailer for new romantic drama ONE TRUE LOVES which hits cinemas April 7th and then a week later will be available for streaming on Apple TV Plus. Two godlike hunks Simu Liu and Luke Bracey lead the movie in which Phillipa Soo plays a woman who is unexpectedly forced to choose between the husband she has long thought dead and the fiance who has finally brought her back to life. Now colour me super ubber hyper interested: Hugh Jackman in skirt and sandals in Homer's ODYSSEY! Australian hunk is negotiating around the lead role in Lionsgate's epic adventure based on the famous epic poem. I've already announced earlier this year that HUNGER GAMES' Francis Lawrence is directing and that it is a potential franchise. As you know the ancient story follows the adventures of the famous Ithacan hero who's voyage home from the Trojan war last almost a decade thanks to all kinds of mythical difficulties while his wife Penelope and son Telemachus are trying to save his throne.

Speaking of old epics, it was also announced yesterday that Dante's Inferno will be getting its own movie too in which Dante himself will travel through the nine levels of hell to save the woman he loves.

As 'Deadline' reports today, Lionsgate is not letting THE HUNGER GAMES production team rest after the sf franchise ends later this year. They have apparently enlisted its helmer Francis Lawrence to direct, Peter Craig to write and Nina Jacobson to produce a new epic big screen version of Homer's ODYSSEY! The production should begin as soon as the beginning of the next year!

ODYSSEY mainly follows Greek hero Odysseus and his journey home after the fall of Troy. It takes Odysseus ten years to reach Ithaca after the ten-year Trojan War. He has to overcome numerous obstacles during his journey. In his absence, it is assumed he has died, and his wife Penelope and son Telemachus must deal with a group of unruly suitors who compete for Penelope's hand in marriage.
