FISHERMAN'S FRIENDS: ONE AND ALL SEQUEL MOVIE TRAILER IS HERE WITH JAMES PUREFOY! APPLE TV TURNING EDITH WHARTON'S THE BUCCANNEERS INTO A 19TH CENTURY COSTUME DRAMA

 THE BUCCANEERS PERIOD
SET SERIES AT APPLE TV+
If you asked me what is the one thing I'd never ever in million years want it is probably a bunch of silly American girls thrown into a posh European costume drama, but it seems Apple TV + is set to give us just that turning the

nightmare into reality: they've given an order for an eight episode series based on Edith Wharton's unfinished novel THE BUCCANEERS and they've gone as far as to cast Kristine Froseth, Alisha Boe,  the godawful Josie Totah, Aubri Ibrag, Imogen Waterhouse and Mia Threapleton in the title roles.
Girls with money, men with power. New money, old secrets. A group of fun loving young American girls explode into the tightly corseted London season of the 1870s, kicking off an Anglo-American culture clash as the land of the stiff upper lip is infiltrated by a refreshing disregard for centuries of tradition. Sent to secure husbands and titles, the buccaneers’ hearts are set on much more

 FISHERMAN'S FRIENDS
ONE AND ALL SEQUEL TRAILER
Singing Fishermen are back this August

  1. They ain't for me...plus it's on Apple TV. Yesterday we were trying to watch After Earth, but again it's not my thing, but my husband seemed to enjoy it.

  2. I am a Wharton fan, loved the novel, loved the 1995 adaptation, and was about to subscribe to Apple but …that casting? Froseth’s teeth. A Somali playing the blonde daughter of a former Confederate? Forget about Totah. Only Imogen Waterhouse sort of fits. Ohhh and you who so hate nepotism, Mia T. is Winslet’s kid.

Wait, I’m getting it . Forseth and Imogen are the St. George Girls, Totah is Lizzy (now she has a sister), Mia is Lady Honoria who was a minor character in the book. Alisha plays Brazilian Conchita, so I imagine the scandal will be that she is mixed. Makes sense, maybe I will subscribe after all. I still have to see the male leads and who will play Miss Testvalley.

    1. It smells very woke already. Mia is Kates daughter? How wonderfully horrible indeed. Is there any among them who has not pushed their brats into showbitzz? I was thinking of doing an article on nepotism in Hollywood, but when I started making a list and came to name number 30 (just out of the younger ones) I realised it would be a saga of an article and gave up LOL

If nothing, it is nice seeing that Apple is doing something period set.

  3. I repeat, if it is not terrible woke, I may want to watch it. The bucaneers is cashing on the success of the Gilded Age. Hope they would remake Wharton's novels provided they don't screw them with modern sensibilities

    1. I would watch it but I find Josie Totah so disgusting that it makes me wanna puke. I will wait for the trailer and then decide, but I really cannot stomach that wench, she is the worst 'actress' that has ever lived and also fugly to boot LOL I do expect it to be very much woke.

  4. About Hollywood nepotism. It has always existed, it's why we had Barrymore, Fonda and Huston dynasties, but now is jiust a way to get children a summer job. iT beats the hell out of babysitting or being gophers but do they have talent?

    1. That is the point, none of them does, from the horrid Maya Hawke to Meryl's annoying brood, they all lack any talent. The latest one to join them is Cindy Crawford's awful daughter who is now taking roles too beside modeling. Like why would you cast a model when you have thousands of young students of drama schools?

  5. Fisherman’s Friend's might be kind I like. But bejesus, why would one want to perform with the likes of Beyoncé?

    2. Haven’t heard it. Sadly, I liked her best as part of Destiny’s Child. Haven’t liked her since she went solo. Don’t have any interest in her new single either.

    3. I've heard it on Facebook, I expected it would be some shite, but not that smelly shite that it turned out to be LOL Like, it's worse than the worst. Her career is dead as dodo, she can only play the race card now.

  7. I had to laugh at your comment about The Buccaneers. I haven't heard of any of those actresses, but maybe that's a good thing!

I am about to disagree with you guys today and say that I love me some Beyonce! Lemonade is one my favorite albums and one of my top listened to channels on Pandora. Although, I must admit, that I'm not a fan of her as a person. I'm only a fan of her music.

    1. I've never heard Lemonade, the fact that it does not have a single hit tells a lot LOL She always had terrible albums, they did not even want to publish her debut album at first back in the days, saying it has no hits, so they bought Crazy in Love and pushed it onto the album to have it as the lead single. Then she had a number of flop albums until her only pop album with Halo, BrokenHearted Girl and If I Were A Boy, those are the only three hits she has. She and her husband are disgusting people, they even raise their daughter as a nasty brat.
