THE EVENING AND THE MORNING
KEN FOLLETT'S EPIC NOVEL TO BE ADAPTED INTO TV SERIES
While Epix is preparing a series adaptation of A Column of Fire, the third book in his Kingsbridge series (with first two parts, Pillars of the Earth and World Without End already adapted previous decade), Ken Follett's new
book THE EVENING AND THE MORNING, the prequel to the whole series, will be adapted by Legendary TV.
Legendary TV will turn the book into series |
EVENING AND THE MORNING takes place in 997 CE, the end of the Dark
Ages. England is facing attacks from the Welsh in the west and the
Vikings in the east. Those in power bend justice according to their
will, regardless of ordinary people and often in conflict with the king.
Without a clear rule of law, chaos reigns. In these turbulent times,
three characters find their lives intertwined. A young boatbuilder’s
life is turned upside down when the only home he’s ever known is raided
by Vikings, forcing him and his family to move and start their lives
anew in a small hamlet where he does not fit in. A Norman noblewoman
marries for love, following her husband across the sea to a new land,
but the customs of her husband’s
homeland are shockingly different, and
as she begins to realize that everyone around her is engaged in a
constant, brutal battle for power, it becomes clear that a single
misstep could be catastrophic. A monk dreams of transforming his humble
abbey into a center of learning that will be admired throughout Europe.
And each in turn comes into dangerous conflict with a clever and
ruthless bishop who will do anything to increase his wealth and power.
Follett's books have been sold in more than 170 million copies so far |
I should read the book before watching the series.... sound interesting.

ReplyDeleteHis adaptations so far have been amazing!
DeleteBooks, books, books! 😛 I like their cover designs, btw. 💚
ReplyDeleteI do work in publishing, babe.
DeleteWhich method do you like? First watching movie then reading book or reading book then watching movie. Thanks for sharing the information.
ReplyDeleteI never read a book after the film.
DeleteLike you i never read a book after the film except serpico, because couldn't find its book/books
DeleteIt is boring if you already know the story seen in the film :)
DeleteI was writing a comment on how this looked interesting, when I once again got distracted by your ads. Today the manscaping ads have been replaced with (and I'm not kidding), an ad that says verbatim "Healthiest way to wipe butt, Clear Rear". Ok, now I know someone's messing with me!
ReplyDeleteIt is probably the time to visit your browser history cache and see what your hubby has been visiting recently LOL
DeleteOk, I'm sold. I'm going to have to add the books to my read list first though. Like you, I never read a book after watching the film. I like to form my own characters and scenery in my head and that ruins the magic if there's already casting for it.
ReplyDeleteYes, and you already know the story.
