MISS SCARLET & THE DUKE
ARE RETURNING FOR SEASON 2
The first season was a rather big hit for PBS Masterpiece, with more than eight million people tuning in to watch MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE
historical adventure series, and now it has been confirmed that it will return for the second run but without A + E Network who originally launched it. The series will return next year only to PBS. Kate Phillips starred in the six episode series as Eliza Scarlet whose father dies and leaves her penniless so she takes over his business – a private detective agency. To operate in the business better she joins Detective Inspector William Wellington of Scotland Yard, played by our dearest Stuart Martin, who is also known as “The Duke;” drinker, gambler and womaniser. Eliza and The Duke strike up a mismatched, fiery relationship that will crackle and smoulder with sexual tension as they team up to solve crime in the murkiest depths of 1880’s London.
