   'THE KING'S DAUGHTER'
READY FOR SALES AT CANNES
King's Daughter will be offered to buyers at Cannes
We've been announcing this one since 2015 but it lost the support of two studios in the meantime and now Arclight will offer THE KING'S DAUGHTER (aka The Moon and The Sun) for international sales at Cannes virtual market this month. The update following that piece of news is that Julie Andrews has joined the film as the narrator of the fantasy historical film which sees Pierce Brosnan portraying the Sun King Louis XIV alongside Kaya Scodelario, William Hurt, Benjamin Walker, Ben Lloyd Hughes, Rachel Griffiths and Fan Bingbing! As Screen Daily reports, the film imagines a quest for immortality by the megalomaniacal king, whose reign

spanned the 17th and 18th centuries, as he captures and steals a mermaid’s life force. Matters are further complicated when the king’s illegitimate daughter discovers the mythological creature.

CURSE HIDES UNDER WATER
Curon streams at Netflix from June 10th
You can also check out the trailer for spooky new Italian series CURON  which will start streaming on Netflix June 10th following a woman who returns to a mysterious village in Northern Italy where she grew up, only to find her past returning to haunt her and her teenage children. Here is the official synopsis: Seventeen years after the tragic events that forced her to leave Curon, a woman returns home with her twin children. They soon discover that the town is cursed: when you hear the bells of the old church tower ringing in the middle of a lake, repressed
I'm not sure, but apparently the submerged city really exists in Italy
feelings come back to the surface. A little spoiler: the lake might hide a whole submerged and very much cursed city in its depths.

  1. I'll skip the horror one with the cursed twin, but The King's Daughter sounds intriguing, although 2015 to date is a long time in the making..

    1. It is probably an absolute crap which is why it has been delayed for so long :) It's sad, as it has quite a strong cast.

  2. The King's Daughter sounds like it has a good cast and some potential, but yes, 5 years in the making does not bode well. Usually means a bad script unable to be saved by editing.

  3. Gotta agree with Debra on 5 years not boding well. The story line does sound good though and the cast as well, but this is one I'll wait to hear positive reviews from before diving in myself.

  5. Neither one's my type. 1st one: no one likable (in my opinion). 2nd one: foreign. 😏 Oh well, onto the next one! 🤷‍♂️

    1. Geez Louise, what do you have against foreign programmes, they are most often superior to anything Hollywood makes.
