King arrives to French cinemas February 16th

on a mad race to a port in the Mediterranean. Her goal: to bring King home to Africa. But that's without counting on the director of customs, determined to get his hands on the animal. The film, coming from Pathe and David Moreau, is out in France mid February and then in 15 other countries around Europe too.

Matters are further complicated when the king’s illegitimate daughter discovers the mythological creature. Scodelario and Benjamin Walker met at the shooting of this movie and later on got married. Chinese star Fan Bingbing plays the mermaid.

We've been announcing this one since 2015 but it lost the support of two studios in the meantime and now Arclight will offer THE KING'S DAUGHTER (aka The Moon and The Sun) for international sales at Cannes virtual market this month. THE KING'S DAUGHTER, in which a massive ball scene was shot in Versailles' Hall of Mirrors (it was done at night when tourists aren't there), depicts King Louis XIV's quest for immortality that leads him to capture and steal a mermaid's life force,
