'MULAN' TRAILER FOR
THE LIVE ACTION ADAPTATION
I've noticed that the reactions around the web on the first teaser for Disney's live action MULAN don't really speak of excitement and thrill, and I cannot really blame them, the trailer really lacks in splendour or anything remotely
glitzy with really monotonous wide angles. Anyhows, the movie is ready to hit the big screens next March with Yifei Liu in the lead role next to Donnie Yen (as commander Tung), Gong Li (as an evil witch), Jason Scott Lee (as Hun khan Bori), Jet Li (as the emperor) and Yoson An (as Mulan's love interest).
It is a long way till Mulan gets into cinemas next spring |
When the Emperor of China issues a decree that one man per family
must serve in the Imperial Army to defend the country from Northern
invaders, Hua Mulan, the eldest daughter of an honored warrior, steps in
to take the place of her ailing father. Masquerading as a man, Hua Jun,
she is
tested every step of the way and must harness her inner-strength
and embrace her true potential. It is an epic journey that will
transform her into an honored warrior and earn her the respect of a
grateful nation…and a proud father.
The movie was directed by Niki Caro |
There are many chinese and chinese descendants in the West, anticipating this epic which reminds them of home values.
ReplyDeleteHope they fully enjoy it!
(I must get into the names sometime: Li, Liu, Hua, Hun, An...).
It is funny how half of the cast is Li, Jet, Gong, Jason Scott... :)
DeleteMulan was just one of the Disney flicks that I just never could get into. While I probably won't be catching this one, I am sure there are many looking forward to it.
ReplyDeleteI think it looks shockingly subpar compared to Asian films I've been presenting you with in recent years. But at least it is not directed by Rob Marshall like Mermaid LOL
