PATRICIA HEATON RETURNS TO CBS!
CBS is doing the same by also giving a second chance to one of their last year's pilots which never got into production - CAROL'S SECOND ACT in which Everybody Love's Raymond and cooking star Patricia Heaton plays a woman who after raising her two children and retiring from teaching, embarks on a unique second act: she’s going to become a doctor. They also have a pilot for TO WHOM IT MAY CONCERN which follows Evan who sets out with his group of 20-something friends to accomplish a list of challenges he wrote for himself years ago in an effort to turn around his banal life.
ABBY'S AT NBC THIS MARCH
NBC has also set a date for their new multicam sitcom ABBY'S which will hit the midseason with its ten episodes from March 28th revolving around an unlicensed, makeshift establishment in Abby’s (Natalie Morales) backyard, the perfect gathering place for locals to find camaraderie and sanctuary. To
maintain the perfect bar ecosystem,
all patrons must abide by a specific set of rules. This includes no cell
phones, understanding that earning a seat at the bar takes time to rise
through the hierarchy and knowing that losing a challenge may have some
unpleasant and unpalatable drink-related repercussions.

We need some comedy to put a smile on our worried faces. The above mentioned sitcoms look promising.
ReplyDelete(Geniuses). The average parent wants his/her kids to be happy. Being a genius might involve unhappiness for both the child and his parents. At the same time genius children might provide good stuff for creating comic situations as this kind of kids are not a common phenomenon.
A place based on and centered around women (Patty's Auto)can be a source for hillarious situations, especially when these women are supposed to service men.
Abby's bar - unlicenced? no cellphones? seat hierarchy? Sounds funny.
And by the way, Elizabeth Banks looks smashing! What a figure!
I was just thinking how my usual Saturday sitcom hour enhances my mood and makes me fall asleep happier. They really a very positive influence to the world and they also usually hide valuable life lessons in their episodes.
DeleteI am looking forward to some new comedies this fall. All of these sound like they deserve a chance, though I am not sure Carol's Second Act would rank high on my list. Sounds more like a show for my mama.
ReplyDeleteI don't know why that came through as anonymous. pft
Deleteit is possible Carol won't get her second act as this is second year they're trying to push it forward. CBS is also bringing back some of last year's pilots which did not get the green light then.
DeleteI'm really loving their Neighbourhood on Monday nights, it is very nice, the cast is lovely and hilarious. I will move onto Cool Kids after LMS and W&G are finished. I also hear FAM is doing very nice and growing in viewers at CBS which is great as I adore Tone Bell. I will do that one in the spring too. Fuller House will be ending with the fifth final season.
Fuller House is ending for good? That sucks. It's one of my favorites. I do miss such wholesome television. Fuller House brought that back and it's such a breath of fresh air after all the years of filth that's been on the telly.
Deleteyes, five years was long enough methinks, better that than drag it out till it becomes boring. It will have a nice long 18 episode final season.
