COLIN FARRELL TO LEAD
Well, I don't think we've ever seen him in a BBC project, but now Colin Farrell will lead BBC 2's new three part epic series THE NORTH WATER! Based on a novel by Ian McGuire, it will be set in the UK and the ice floes of the Arctic in the late 1850s, following the story of Patrick Sumner, a disgraced ex-army surgeon who signs up as ship’s doctor on a whaling expedition to the Arctic. On board he meets Henry Drax (Colin Farrell), the harpooner, a brutish killer whose amorality has been shaped to fit the harshness of his world. Hoping to escape the horrors of his past, Sumner finds himself on an ill-fated journey with a murderous psychopath. In search of redemption, his story becomes a harsh struggle for survival in the Arctic wasteland. Andrew Haigh is directing for See Saw Films.
'BRITANNIA' SEASON 2
HAIL THE FIRST PHOTOS!
Speaking of epic series, Sky Atlantic has released first photos from the second season of their Roman era series BRITANNIA which did not really amaze
anyone last year but it still had viewership strong enough to give them another run which will probably happen sometime this spring.
David Morissey returns as super evil Roman general Aulus. |
CONQUER THE CELTS!
In the show that follows Roman conquest of Britain, Eleanor Worthington Cox returns as now more grown Cait, who is being prepared by outcast Druid Divis (Nikolaj Lie Kaas) to fulfil the prophecy in a world where the gods
hold power over everyone, so the question remains
how much freedom does anyone have over their own actions? David
Morrissey is returning as evil General Aulus who will be romanising
willing Celt tribes with the help of Celtic Queen Amena (Annabel
Scholey), and crushing those who try to resist!
Mackenzie Crook will
both play evil sorcerer Veran and his brother Harka, who is apparently
even more evil. They will have an epic battle of wills that puts in
jeopardy a prophecy that would save Britannia from the Romans.

ReplyDeleteI wonder who will play the other role and will there be sweet loving between them LOL
DeleteSounds tragic for the ex-surgeon to find himself on a ship with a maniac.
ReplyDeleteThe only interesting thing in this series seems to be the Arctic world, especially now that we're told the glaciers are melting and will gradually swallow islands (sort of a natural Brexit:).
Yes, makes me feel kinda happy that I live in the middle of the continent :)
DeleteSounds like pure hell to me. Arctic wasteland and a murdering psychopath? No, thanks.
ReplyDeletepoor polar bears... no wonder they like to eat us sometimes
