Set in a sprawling, magic filled world populated by gods, dragons,
krakens, witches, demons, ghosts, shape shifters and zombies, THE RUIN
OF KINGS follows the story of Khirin, a young thief who discovers he may
be the son of a prince and involved in a complex prophecy where he is
more valuable alive than dead. Lyons, who worked as a graphic artist on
video games before, has published this one just two weeks ago for Tor

'BRAVE NEW WORLD'
TO BECOME USA NETWORK SHOW
USA Network has taken over from SyFy the series adaptation of Aldous Huxley's seminal work BRAVE NEW WORLD set in a utopian society that has achieved peace and stability through the prohibition of monogamy,
privacy, money, family, and history itself. As citizens of New London, Bernard Marx and Lenina Crowne have only ever known a rigid social order, a perfect pharmaceutical called Soma, and a culture of instant gratification and ubiquitous sex. Curious to explore life beyond the strictures of their society, the two New Worlders embark on a vacation to the Savage Lands, where they become embroiled in a harrowing and violent rebellion. Bernard and Lenina are rescued by John the Savage, who escapes with them back to New London. John’s arrival in the New World soon threatens to disrupt its utopian harmony, leaving Bernard and Lenina to grapple with the repercussions.
Brave New World has been in work since 2015 |
'THEY BOTH DIE AT THE END'
TO BECOME SF SHOW AT HBO
Silvera's bestseller will become HBO series |
Oh, my what a mixture in The Ruin of Kings adaptation! We have a thief and royalty, gods and dragons, prophecy and magic. Something for everyone, nothing for me:)
ReplyDeleteAldoux Huxley's Brave New World doesn't seem so brave after all, but I might give it a try, because even today it still "makes some waves".
you don't like dragons? What's there not to like about them? :)
DeleteThey Both Die In The End... I was so stressed out reading that book because you keep thinking or hoping that somehow they are both going to escape their untimely demise. Even though the title tells you exactly how the story ends, I still found myself pissed off they didn't make it after all.
ReplyDeleteit is a very sad story indeed
DeleteI've never read "Brave New World" -- I really should get around to doing so some day.
ReplyDeleteyes, it's been written almost a century ago :)
DeleteBrave new World sounds very interesting as does They both Die at the End.
ReplyDeleteagreed!
DeleteI think I prefer Brave New World!
ReplyDeletehope they do a nice casting
DeleteI'll give them all a go!
