  1. I've always meant to read those books but never got around to it. Perhaps I'll have a chance to see the series instead!

  2. I appreciate the "warning" in the title - dark materials.
The leading actress is good. Here she takes the viewer on her complex journey from a sheltered life to a nomadic one, but I don't like her; there's something in her looks that irritates me. Sorry.

    1. the woman or the girl? The girl is the lead actress, the evil looking woman is a rather terrible actress called Ruth Wilson, can't stand her myself.

    2. The woman. Your caption is right: Ruth Wilson. I got things wrong because of the trailer.

    3. we don't like her, but I think we will be seeing her more often on BBC after that MRS WILSON series in which she, if your remember, played her own grandmother married to a man who had more than one secret wife.

  3. It looks like it won't be short on the action shots.

  6. The books were amazing but that woman looks nothing like Mrs. Coulter. Nicole Kidman played the part well in the original movie, imo, though McAvoy will probably make a good Lord Asriel. After seeing him in Split, I think he could play anyone.

    1. Ruth Wilson is a horrible actress and not nice to look at at all, but somebody's been pushing her massively onto us lately.
