'THE DYNASTY' TV REBOOT
NATHALIE KELLEY IS NEW KRYSTLE
A month ago I informed you that CW is preparing a pilot for the reboot of the famous soap opera THE DYNASTY and now we have the new Krystle or Cristal in the modernized version! Vampire Diaries star Nathalie Kelley will take the role!
Here's the new twist: the story will be told primarily through the
perspectives of two women at odds: Fallon Carrington, daughter of
billionaire Blake Carrington, and her soon-to-be stepmother, Cristal, a
Hispanic woman marrying into this WASP family and America's most
powerful class. In an age where dynasties appear everywhere - from
reality TV to the polling booths - this epic drama features the one
percent in all its glitz and gloss, while exposing the dark underbelly: a
corrupt world built on backroom deals, betrayal, and, in some cases…
murder.
SAOIRSE RONAN TO LEAD
'SWEETNESS IN THE BELLY'
Deadline reports today that Saoirse Ronan will lead the adaptation of bestselling novel SWEET- NESS IN THE BELLY by Camilla Gibb. Orphaned in Africa as a child, Lilly’s first experience of her parents’ homeland of England is as a refugee, escaping civil war. As lost in this cold new world as her fellow immigrants, Lilly becomes the heart of this disenfranchised community in London, attempting to reunite people with their scattered families. But as her friend Amina discovers, Lilly’s mission isn’t purely altruistic and a passionate lost love affair is revealed between Lilly and Aziz, an idealistic doctor.
EVA LONGORIA
TO GUEST STAR IN 'EMPIRE'
And to end the day with lovely ladies, here's a new info on desperate housewife Eva Longoria: she will be the latest guest star in Fox's hit show EMPIRE trying to boost up its ratings which have been falling down steady with the start of the third season which is to return March 22nd with Cookie Lyon (Taraji P. Henson) and Lucious starting their biggest battle ever against each other after his dirty attack on her lover played by Taye Diggs!
Eva Longoria will play Charlotte Frost, the formidable director of
the all-powerful state gaming commission. Charlotte has the power to
make-or-break Lucious’ (Terrence Howard) dreams of expanding Empire’s
reach to Las Vegas and beneath her alluring façade, lies a force of
darkness and corruption.
I remember Dynasty from when I was a kid. Wonder how the reboot will do?
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Sweetness in the Belly- but it does sound interesting. Thanks for sharing. :)

Hope they don't ruin it, for starters I think I will miss Alexis not being in the reboot I mean we all watched Dynasty just for the catfights
DeleteEmpire is the shit. Idk why the ratings would be suffering. I have a crush on Cookie.
ReplyDeleteEmpire was amazing in the first season, dynamic, well written, exciting, great cast, but then they went downhill with the second season and especially now with the third one with all their racist stuff, it is disgusting, Cookie is the goddess, though. I hate how they ruined Jamal and Andre and killing Ronda was a disgusting racism
DeleteEmpire is another on my ever growing want to watch list. I know it has a pretty strong fan base so that's sad that the ratings are going down. Hopefully, Eva can fan the flames and get the viewers back in.
ReplyDeletethey deserve to go down :) they've become a racist show even though the first season was utterly fun
DeleteOh, no. That's terrible! I guess they need to jump on the racial tension that's been going on to try to stick with current happenings. Or, maybe that's why they are going down. Better learn that most of us don't tolerate any kind of racism and we'll sink that ship right quick if they try tossing it our way.
Deletethey are into black lives matter thing, which is racists in itself, but they're really extreme with it,they've even killed the only white character in the show and brutally so and not because they needed to but because they wanted to retaliate for something.... they also ruined all the lead characters in it, they all suddenly become stupid, aggressive, violent, drug users....
DeleteWell, looks like I'll be removing it from my watch list. Such a shame when they muddy a good show with politics and race baiting. Sad that people keep demanding equality, but do everything in their power to keep the races divided.
Deletedivision has never been deeper thanks to Barack Osama, methinks
DeleteI agree, but try telling that to the liberals. He could do no wrong. Standing up for the criminal thugs and BLM rioters (NOT protesters but RIOTERS!) really divided the country. He should have kept his big fat mouth shut until he had all the facts. Thankfully, I live in a city with a lot of mixed cultures, and for the most part we all get along beautifully. Of course, there are a few racists in every bunch, but there's more love than hate in these parts.
Deletehe divided the world too, not just USA, bombed eight countries, killed hundreds of thousands of people, supported ISIS, started the biggest intercontinental exodus the world has ever seen by supporting ISIS and giving them guns... not to mention his racism.... no wonder people are joking he might be the father of Beyo Biatch's upcoming triplets :))))
DeleteGuess Hollywood's still going back to old stuff. Should be interesting what kind of twist they give it and if it will resonate with people.
ReplyDeletenow more than ever
DeleteHi Dez! I've never seen Empire, but my granddaughter recently told me that I'm going to binge watch it with her. She also said I didn't have a choice. I hope I like it!
ReplyDeleteit certainly is dynamic and explosive, focus on Cookie if you don't like anything else :)
DeleteOh, I like Eva Longoria!
ReplyDelete-Kati
how could you not?
