DRACULA UNTOLD
If you follow our official Facebook and Twitter pages you already know what our main cinematic treat for today is: Universal has released the first absolutely glorious posters for their upcoming $100 million epic adventure DRACULA UNTOLD which brings Luke Evans (with his black cape fading into bats) back onto the big screens on October 3rd! The movie won't be a horror but an epic adventure following the historical Prince Vlad Tepes once a proud nobleman who becomes the infamous killer after Turkish sultan Mehmed (Dominic Cooper) kills his wife Mirena (Sarah Gadon) and his kids. We expect the first trailer real soon and then you can also expect an extensive spotlight on the movie which also stars our new Daredevil Charlie Cox, Samantha Barks as Baba Yaga, BLACK SAIL's Zach McGowan as a Gipsy leader! Oscar winner Ngila Dickson (LORD OF THE RINGS) is doing the costumes and they already look promising with the breathtaking armour that Luke Evans is wearing on the posters!
JACKIE CHAN'S DRAGON BLADE
GETS ADRIEN BRODY AND JOHN CUSACK AS ROMAN SOLDIERS
Speaking of things historical, The Hollywood Reporter writes that Adrien Brody and John Cusack have joined Jackie Chan's new historical adventure DRAGON BLADE in which they will play Roman soldiers! The $65 million movie (which makes it the most expensive Chinese language film ever) will be helmed by Daniel Lee and is inspired by a missing legion of Roman soldiers that travelled into China in 48 BCE. Cusack plays Lucius, a Roman general who led a legion of a 1,000 soldiers into Han Dynasty China. Adrien Brody will play Tiberius, who has assassinated Rome's Consul Crassus and chased after Lucius with a force of 100,000 soldiers. Chan stars as the Commander of the Protectorate of the Western Regions who teams up with Lucius to protect China's borders and sovereignty. To be released next February on Chinese Lunar New Year, the movie is inspired by the documented evidence of Roman descendants and Roman ruins in Liqian village in Northwest China's Gansu province during the Han Dynasty.

Dracula Untold Looks Marvellous.
ReplyDeleteabsolutely stunning! Can't wait for the first trailer! Hope it arrives this week!
DeleteVery cool artwork for the posters. I don't generally like vampire stories (they creep me out), but I may check this one out since it's rooted more in legend.
ReplyDeleteyep, same with me... but this one will be a historical movie about a prince who goes over to the dark side to safe his people and family ... kinda like in reality... if I remember correctly Vlad the Impaler fought the aggressive Turks who were spreading terror all around the Balkans.... the stories saved in our tradition here about them are much darker than the ones about Dracula the Vampire
DeleteI love the Dracula posters - a great style/theme carried through them all.
ReplyDeletethey're exquisitely brilliant! I'm truly proud of what they did with them
DeleteStunning pictures of Dracula...hope the movie will be on the same level!
ReplyDeletefingers and fangs crossed
DeleteLol!
Delete:)
DeleteImperial Rome is a great interest of mine -- looking forward to "Dragon Blade." I like Brody and Cusack too.
ReplyDeletethat detail from history is really intriguing
DeleteOh my. I wish I could lick Adrien Brody's chest. That'd be funner than this Dracula film.
ReplyDeleteBrodylicious really is lickworthy
DeleteDezz.... did he say lick?
Deleteit is surprising... he usually prefers to lick blond people and Adrien is so very dark.....
DeleteDracula's cape reminds me of Batman.:-)
ReplyDeleteSeriously, I do like the look of the costume.
Dracula is the original Batman and thus the style is his
Deletepoint taken...
Deletebats obey their original master
DeleteI was Bluebat but you forced me to be Blue again. Plain Blue. I miss my cape.
DeleteI thought Mongo the Intergalactic Padishah stole your cape
DeleteDRACULA UNTOLD sounds positively delicious! And the cape ... oh my!
ReplyDeleteNgela did such amazing things with the costume, just look at the details on his armour
DeleteHow to jumpstart my pulse - a picture of Adrien Brody - that's how. Just in case you ever find me laying, dying on a deserted roadside… that will help.
ReplyDeleteJust dropping it to say "HI" - hope all is well over 'there' - on your side of the screen.
I've actually seen Adrien in person :) I sneaked into the sets when he was filming a movie in my city :) He is very small.... you'd be surprised how much... most people think he is tall because he is so thin
DeleteYou sneaked onto the set? Haha! That's a bit sneaky! :)
DeleteI actually wanted to sneak onto Rachel Weisz, but got Adrien instead :)
DeleteOh, what a shame. Not! :)
DeleteThe screen sure distorts doesn't it - too bad about Adrien being small. I just saw him in The Darjeeling Express (don't know how I missed it when it came out).
DeleteI would have loved seeing Rachel Weisz in person - I've enjoyed the roles she's been in - very talented.
he is small, but the cutest small package ever :)
DeleteI like the poster art for DRACULA UNTOLD and based on how this upcoming movie appears to be unfolding, I'd be willing to check it out despite me not really caring for the horror genre much nor much anything that has to do with Dracula. Still, it might be worth taking a look at given that it's shaping up to be quite an epic flick.
ReplyDeleteThe same goes for that Jackie Chan flick, as I had good hopes for the movie until I saw Adrien Brody on the bill. He's not my idea of a good time. Ha! Then again, we're talking about a story involving roman soldiers here....which I'm more curious about than the casting of Brody. So, count me in! :)

yep, I don't do horror either, but this one will be a historical movie, not so much a horror.
DeleteOh wow, I love the posters for Dracula. I don't usually go for that kind of story in a big way, but the poster has piqued my interest.
ReplyDeletethe best posters we've seen in a long time
DeleteReally wonderful imagery today Dezzy! The posters are fabulous!
ReplyDeleteglad you like them, they're ever so pretty
DeleteDracula was tough enough before, with a sword he might be worse
ReplyDeleteexactly
DeleteBoth of these are worth going to the movie theater to see instead of waiting for the DVD.
ReplyDeletethat's my opinion too
DeleteDracula Untold! I read a book about Vlad a while back and his historical story is really interesting - albeit somewhat gory. Still, as first impressions go, this is definitely on my list of films to watch out for :) Posters are stunning.
ReplyDeletetotally stunning
DeleteI wonder how many Dracula movies there are including TV and big screen.
ReplyDeleteactually, this one will be the first big studio movie on DRACULA in almost 15 years :)
DeleteThe Dracula to the big screen, looks good. I was following the Dracula series with Jonathan Meyers, but it looks like they gave it the axe...
ReplyDeleteoh, yes, it was axed big time :) And I have a feeling CROSSBONES which took over it's Friday slot will get axed too.... deservedly :)
DeleteWell, I just wanted to say... I love Cusack. Not in a chest licking way though ;)
ReplyDeletespeaking of chests, I don't think we've ever seen Cusack shirtless in a film.....
DeleteAnother Dracula movie?
ReplyDeletefirst big one in 15 years
DeleteGood point. Those twinkle ones were vampires. I never saw them. I don't care for the writer, I think she's a bitch of a lady.
DeleteI had the bad luck of translating the bitches books.... sadly.....
DeleteUgh. You had to translate those? My sympathies. Though, I know a lot of people that thought they were the greatest books written. To each their own.
DeleteI can't tell you that they're so stupid that you wanna poke your eye out with a rotten spoon if forced to read them. I translated four of those books one summer and I think it made my brain rather blunt.. the level of stupidity in them is just out of this world....
