To find the truth, Professor Fang and his assistant invited their good friend Lei Zhen (Li Chen) to go deep into the 10,000-year-old glacier to find the sacred place for offering sacrifices to heaven, to uncover this unknown legendary story. I must admit I almost forgot about this one, thought it premiered long time ago, but it is actually arriving into Russian and Chinese cinemas this September! THE MYSTERY OF DRAGON SEAL: JOURNEY TO CHINA is a sort of sequel to 2014 Russian fantasy blockbuster Viy, and is directed by Oleg Stepchenko who makes a movie about once in five to ten years. We remember his previous hit Forbidden Empire. This one stars two action superstars from the 90's Jackie Chan and Arnold Schwarzenegger alongside Rutger Hauer, Charles Dance, Jason Flemyng and it cost about whooping $50 million to make!

Another epic story to get a new poster is Italian bizarre, yet visually stunning, fairy tale drama TALE OF TALES  based on a 17th century collection of fairy tales by Italian author Giambattista Basile! The movie weaves realistic and fantastical elements together into three different storylines, with Salma Hayek playing the Queen of Longtrellis and John C. Reilly as her King,  Vincent Cassel as the King of Strongcliff and Toby Jones as the King of HighHills. It will compete at film festivals around Europe this year! 
 

'THE 33' GETS FIRST POSTER

And then there's a new, or to be more precise, the very first poster for real life drama THE 33  with the story based on the real-life event from Chile a few years ago, when a gold and copper mine collapsed, trapping 33 miners underground for 69 days. Antonio Banderas, Rodrigo Santoro, Juliette Binoche, James Brolin, Lou Diamond Phillips and Gabriel Byrne star. The movie hits Chilean cinemas this August and will move into the American ones in November ahead of the Oscar award season.

Directed by Daniel Lee the movie stars Jackie Chan as Huo An, the commander of the Protection Squad of the Western Regions during the legendary  Han Dynasty. International stars Adrien Brody and John Cusack are playing Roman soldiers in the film!

On the other hand, a Roman general escapes to China after rescuing the Prince. The heroic duo meet in the Western Desert and a thrilling story unfolds.

Speaking of Asian movies, one that hits Chinese cinemas this Christmas and is expected to break records is THE TAKING OF TIGER MOUNTAIN by legendary Tsui Hark! This magnificent 3D epic has the story based on Qu Bo's novel which describes a true event from Chinese history focusing on a communist soldier who went deep undercover amongst a gang of remote bandits in order to take them down from within. The cast includes Zhang Hangyu, Han Geng, Lin Gengxin and Tong Liya.  Check out the extremely captivating trailer below showing the enchanting wintery setting of the movie! The novel has also been turned into a  very popular Beijing opera!

The movie won't be a horror but an epic adventure following the historical Prince Vlad Tepes once a proud nobleman who becomes the infamous killer after Turkish sultan Mehmed (Dominic Cooper) kills his wife Mirena (Sarah Gadon) and his kids. We expect the first trailer real soon and then you can also expect an extensive spotlight on the movie which also stars our new Daredevil Charlie Cox, Samantha Barks as Baba Yaga, BLACK SAIL's Zach McGowan as a Gipsy leader! The $65 million movie (which makes it the most expensive Chinese language film ever) will be helmed by Daniel Lee and is inspired by a missing legion of Roman soldiers that travelled into China in 48 BCE. Cusack plays Lucius, a Roman general who led a legion of a 1,000 soldiers into Han Dynasty China. Adrien Brody will play Tiberius, who has assassinated Rome's Consul Crassus and chased after Lucius with a force of 100,000 soldiers. Chan stars as the Commander of the Protectorate of the Western Regions who teams up with Lucius to protect China's borders and sovereignty. To be released next February on Chinese Lunar New Year, the movie is inspired by the documented evidence of Roman descendants and Roman ruins in Liqian village in Northwest China's Gansu province during the Han Dynasty.
