MAD MAX FURY ROAD

ALEX RUSSELL IN GALYNTINE
POSTAPOCALYPTIC TV SERIES
In today's television news, 'Deadline' reports that AMC's upcoming
new postapocalyptic show GALYNTINE has added yet another cast member.
Alex Russell will star in the fantasy action adventure with hints of
sci-fi set in a postapocalyptic future without technology where a band
of survivors is forced to adapt to isolation and the challenges of their
new world. With Catherine Dent already in the cast, Russell will play a
man who is set to be a future leader of the colony, but a twist of fate
(and a deeply wounding betrayal) set him on a different, more dangerous
path.

FIRST 'THE GREAT FIRE' TEASER
ANDREW BUCHAN, CHARLES DANCE IN 17TH CENTURY LONDON
After a very long wait British ITV has finally released a teaser for their upcoming new historical series THE GREAT FIRE which will air this Autumn. Starring Andrew Buchan, Rose Leslie, Charles Dance, Daniel Mays, Jack Huston and Oliver Jackson Cohen,
THE GREAT FIRE tells the story of exhausted baker Thomas Farriner who forgets to close his ovens, sparking a terrible blaze which threatens to destroy 17th century London. Family members are lost amongst the fleeing crowds whilst desperate refugees fight, loot and riot to survive.
Amid the horror, the personal stories of those caught in the disaster stand out against the flames; Frantic with worry, Sarah, a penniless widow searches for her missing son; Famous diarist Samuel Pepys’ burning ambition to become the King’s confidant threatens his
marriage more than the blaze outside his door; A pleasure-seeking King struggles to tame his wild side and become the leader his people need. At the heart of the story is the tragic baker, distracted by an agonising dilemma, who makes a simple mistake with devastating consequences. Below is the teaser, and you can watch a longer trailer here.

Everything that was old is new again, just more dramatic and gruesome. THE GREAT FIRE looks interesting.
ReplyDeleteTHE GREAT FIRE should be really interesting. It will be intriguing to see how people from the previous centuries were unprepared for disasters just like we are still now
DeleteI am a huge fan of the original Mad Max movies. Still, I'm looking forward to this updated version. Loving the photos. :)
ReplyDeleteI've recently watched the first one, the original one, and it just made me so tense with the amount of brutal violence. But I did like the second and the third one, with Tina Turner and that desert fort.
DeleteCharlize even looks good bald. We do love her. I haven't seen any of the Mad Max movies so I don't know about them.
ReplyDeleteThe Great Fire looks good though. And since it's ITV, it won't be too long before my Russian friends have it up so I can see it.
I hurt myself in the garden a couple of times, so I've not been around. Mainly just commented on you and Fran a few times this month as you two are my favourite boys. A bit depressed after I dislocated my shoulder as I can't work in the yard, play drums or paint. It's healing well though and I hope to come back next month.
Take care darling.
I've heard you got hurt and was worried about you, dear! Will you be good as old when it heals?
DeleteMiss you, dahlink!
I hope you are okay, Anne.
DeleteGood thing we know our Annzie is as strong as any Irish and can survive everything!
DeleteYa, I'll be fine. There's a small tear in the rotator cuff, but it will heal on its own. The poison has dried up now!
Deletehow did it happen, dear? Do you have anybody there to take care of you?
DeleteUh-oh, more remakes. I liked the original Mad Max flicks, so maybe the new ones will be good, too. Seems like when they do remakes, they have a tendency to make the violence more graphic and "real" than it was in the originals. I think I'd rather they left some of that stuff to my imagination.
ReplyDeleteThe Great Fire sounds good, though.
Today's obssession with extreme violence and making it something entertaining is beyond disgusting and revolting and I'm deeply annoyed by that
DeleteI won't watch movies that have extreme violence. They make me sick.
Deleteme too, especially when the violence is used for entertainment
DeleteYeah, there's no reason to waste time with that, when I can watch BAKE OFF!
DeleteWe had an old season of TOP CHEF at one of our channels aired recently in which Harold won... I liked him a lot... and also a season of MASTERCHEF in which Jennifer won... she was so amazing and lovely
DeleteI never even knew what the original Mad Max was about--just that it involved Mel Gibson and I think it launched his American career, didn't it?
ReplyDeletewell, some ruthless band of crazy wackoes kills and rapes his wife and kid in the middle of nowhere which sets him of to become a crazed vigilante who goes around the desert killing all of them and getting revenge.... My stomach couldn't digest the first movie, the second two were more bearable
DeleteLove Tom Hardy, it is on my to see list.
ReplyDeleteI just wish he would sometimes shoot something that is not violent or aggressive :(
DeleteLooking forward to Max and Charlize is looking damn good!
ReplyDeleteglad you think so, Fran
DeleteLoved the first Mad Max with Mel Gibson. Ordinarily I'm not interested in sequels that don't star the original cast. Saying that, I suspect this one will be good. I hope.
ReplyDeleteFingers crossed... they're doing PREDATOR too as a new sequel not as a remake
DeleteFor the record, no women look good bald.
ReplyDeletecouldn't agree more... but men on the other hand......
DeleteWould never have recognised Nicholas Hoult.
ReplyDeletethey really put tones of makeup on Nicky!
DeleteI disagree with Adam. I think plenty of women look good bald. Demi Moore looked fabulous in GI Jane.
ReplyDeleteWait? Has Demi ever looked fabulous... with or without hair.. with or without Bruce and Ashton? :)))))
DeleteThe Great Fire's looking good and most impressive!
ReplyDeleteglad you like it, Phi, you have the longer trailer in that red link at the end of the post
DeleteI blush to admit I've never been a Mad Max fan.
ReplyDeleteThe Great Fire looks intense!
Have a great weekend, Dez.
thanks, Sandra, you too!
DeleteCharlize is looking pretty gritty in this film. She looks good, though!
ReplyDeleteshe seems to like those gritty roles
DeleteThe Great Fire, maybe
ReplyDeleteGalyntine, for sure
Mad Max, not on a bet
I will skip MAX too, Pat
DeleteThat's a new look for Charlize. And she still looks good! Sheesh ;)
ReplyDeleteI'm guessing the film will go well Down Under
