WWI 'JOURNEY'S END' TO HAVE
TOM HIDDLESTON, BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH, EDDIE REDMAYNE
Now, here are lovely casting combinations for you: according to rumours Tom Hiddleston, Eddie Redmayne and Benedict Cumberbatch could all star in historical movie JOURNEY'S END which would be set in the trenches of the World War One! Benedict Cumberbatch could play Captain Stanhope, a father figure to his men who is also bitterly aware of the idiocy of war. Tom Hiddleston could play the enthusiastic Lieutenant Osborne from the 1928 play by R.C. Sherriff, according to 'Radio Times'! All three of them have already given outstanding performances in war films: Eddie Redmayne was marvellous in BBC's BIRDSONG, Hiddleston was tremendous in Spielberg's WAR HORSE which also starred Benedict Cumberbatch who also played in war set PARADE'S END.

JUDI DENCH IN 'RICHARD III'
WITH BENEDICT CUMBERBATCH?
Speaking of Benedict Cumberbatch, I've informed you before that BBC will finish their epic series of television projects based on William Shakespeare's works with historical mini series RICHARD III in which he will play the lead role (the above mentioned Tom Hiddleston played already in THE HOLLOW CROWN series as Henry V, while Eddie Redmayne played RICHARD II in a theatre play). Now there are rumours that Her Cinematic Highness Judi Dench might play Queen Margaret from the House of Lancaster, the wife of Richard's rival Henry VI! RICHARD III depicts the Machiavellian rise to power and subsequent short reign of Richard III of England! He is described as an evil and ugly hunchback in Shakespeare's play.
Good Sam sounds interesting and you've gotta love Judi Dench in anything she does.
ReplyDeleteshe is the empress, Meryl is the queen, Blanchett is the heir to the throne :)
DeleteLots of actors I like, in this post.
ReplyDeleteI love them too.. minus Cucumberpatch and Fonda (Fonda scared me as a kid....)
DeleteWhy don't you like Cucumberpatch?
DeleteI can't say I hate him, I just don't love love him... I don't get the buzz around him. He hasn't impressed me so far in any of his role. To me he is just a rich heir who had money to invest in his agents and managers
DeleteSHERLOCK? Anyone?!?! He's brilliant.
DeleteHiddleston, Cumberbatch and Redmayne in "Journey's End" would be DREAM casting! I hope it materializes. It's insane how much I love Tom Hiddleston, LOL. And Judi Dench in "Richard III" would rock too, although Queen Margaret's role is not huge.
ReplyDeleteThey still don't have the funding, but apparently there is a strong wish to do that movie.... with educated British actors.
DeleteHiddles is the sweetest most positive thing that has ever happened to the world of film....
Judi as queen again! Who wouldn't like that!
LOVED The Hollow Crown. Hiddleston was fabulous as Henry. And isn't Journey's End the trifecta of wonderful British actors? :)
ReplyDeleteI haven't actually seen the last part of THE HOLLOW CROWN, since the first two were so difficult to follow, but I will someday just for our sweetest Hiddles
DeleteGood Sam sounds like a great book. I need to read that before the TV show comes out. I don't even like to see previews before I've read the book because it taints my view of the characters.
ReplyDeleteit's out today, so go an get your copy :)
DeleteThis post will make a good friend of mine very happy as she is both a Comberbatch and Hiddleston fan :)
ReplyDeletewe do adore Hiddleston so much... and Redmayne as well
DeleteOMG!!!! Hiddleston and Cumberbatch together again...my intestines just exploded!!!
ReplyDeleteIntestines? I thought some other valuable organs would explode at the mention of Hiddlestud :)
DeleteBenedict is an amazing actor
ReplyDeleteHiddles is such an outstanding actor and person too
DeleteLove that pic of Judi.
ReplyDeleteI'm not a fan of any war movies. But GOOD SAM sounds great. As does GALYNTINE.
I think it is her BEST EXOTIC MARIGOLD HOTEL photo session
DeleteLove that movie... Well 90% of it.
