JAMES MARSDEN IN NICHOLAS SPARKS GORGEOUS LOVE STORY
Gorgeous trailer comes today from the latest adaptation of a Nicholas Sparks novel: THE BEST OF ME, in cinemas this October, tells the story of Dawson (James Marsden and Luke Bracey) and Amanda (Michelle Monaghan and Liana Liberato), two former high school sweethearts who find themselves reunited after 20 years apart, when they return to their small town for the funeral of a beloved friend. Their bittersweet reunion reignites the love they've never forgotten, but soon they discover the forces that drove them apart twenty years ago live on, posing even more serious threats today. Spanning decades, this epic love story captures the enduring power of our first true love, and the wrenching choices we face when confronted with elusive second chances.
Wow, Best of Me looks pretty intense.
ReplyDeleteI haven't read Casual Vacancy. Have you?
I don't do Rowling, dear :) But I do adore Sparks and all of his movies... I like the hope and love he stands for
DeleteI'm not big into romance movies or mushy stuff.
ReplyDelete'tis my fave genre after historical and sf ones
DeleteI don't mind a little mush, especially if food is part of the theme of the movie.
DeleteOoh, I love that dress on Lupita. She is so gorgeous.
ReplyDeleteAnd I know people in real life who met again after twenty years and fell in love for a second time. The power of Facebook. :)
I thought she would be a new fashion icon, given the first two or three gowns she wore at red carpets, but then something happened to her and now she is the worst dressed. It was difficult finding this one nice dress on her :)
DeleteThat is lovely! Facebook has its good sides too :)
everyone is talking about this star wars thing... what is this thing called star wars?
ReplyDeleteI've no idea whatsoever.... is it something with space frogs and intergalactic maniacs with breathing problems?
DeleteStories by Nicholas Sparks are always heartbreaking, but extremely well written and hard to put down. The movie looks like it will be good too.
ReplyDeleteagreed, he is a true gem with his heartwarming and humane stories, especially in today's world which feeds on darkness and morbidity
DeleteI enjoyed THE CASUAL VACANCY so I guess I shall enjoy the adaptation too.
ReplyDeletewith that cast most definitely!
DeleteI really like The Casual Vacancy. I know it didn't get great reviews, and it did take me a bit to actually start to get into the book, but it was one that I thought about long after the book was over. I wanted to hate the main character so bad, but in the end, I loved her, even though I should have still hated her. That book made me think about how society treats the less desirable people without knowing their story. Never judge a book by its cover...
ReplyDeleteNow, Nicholas Sparks. I have been such a fan of his work for many years, even though sometimes I want to hurl the book out the window once I am done with it. The Best of Me really pissed me off in the end. Makes me wonder why he wants to make such sad endings all the time, but at least this one was still kind of happy. They usually do a great job with the movie adaptations, so I can't wait to see it on the screen.
that is so very true that society treats badly the less desirable people without knowing their story... in today's hectic world we rarely take a break to think about other people's stories.
DeleteYou mean they don't end up together in the end? What the what?
They kind of end up together in the end. Guess you'll just have to wait and see :)
Deletehopefully they end up together alive....
DeleteLupita is gorgeous, and it looks as if she's quite an actress as well.
ReplyDeleteDid you mean Miss. Marple for Julia McKenzie? We're related, so I know about her. Just kidding.
yep, lovely Julia Mckenzie... she is always so amazing in BBC programmes! Adored her, Judi and Imelda in CRANFORD!
DeleteFunny how they got Dumbledore for it.
ReplyDeleteI knew you were gonna say that, Adam......
DeleteThe Casual Vacancy sounds interesting. Not a fan of the Potter series Dezzie?
ReplyDeletejust can't stand the horrid young actors in it....
DeleteYay Casual Vacancy got picked up! The Best of Me sounds like the next Note Book - ish.
ReplyDeleteYep, it is being turned into BBC mini series
DeleteNot heard of the Rowling series or the book of it??? Sounds ok-ish......I think?
ReplyDeleteI think she released the book a year or two ago... under a secret name....
DeleteI'm a fan of romantic movies so definitely, The Best of Me is going to be on my list.
ReplyDeleteme too, Arni
