I don't have much for you today, but what I do have is quite lovely: a trailer for new inspiring and spirited movie drama CARMEN with Natascha McElhone in the

lead role and Valerie Buhagiar as the director and writer.
Out this weekend in Canada and September 23rd in US theatres and on VOD, CARMEN is a charming story, inspired by true events, set in a village in Malta. Carmen has looked after her brother, the priest at the local church, since she was sixteen years old. Now almost fifty, she is suddenly left to start a new life after he passes away and she is no longer needed to dedicate her life to him and the church. Facing her past, Carmen brings colour to the lives of the villagers in this compelling story about a woman finding her voice.

  2. Carmen looks like the kind of film I need in my life right now. Though I hope she doesn't get in trouble from swiping church monies and is able to pay it back before they catch on.

    1. Church, that old bitch, has enough money already. Our church is excluded from paying taxes, pisses me off to no extent.

    2. Ours don’t pay taxes either, but they sure want to insert their frigging opinions and beliefs on all of the citizens regardless. If you want a say, pay your damn taxes. Otherwise, shut up.

    3. Yes, ours threw a curse on gay people last month, imagine that! One of the bishops even called for people to take arms against gays and no punishment for such vile bozo. In Germany you pay church taxes only if you are a member of a church and even then that money goes to the church you belong to not to others.

    4. I think that's a part of why I stopped going to church. I never saw them help the people in the community, but they sure did have big fancy buildings and expensive light up signs out front of their establishment. They want to preach the holy word, but literally don't put their money where their mouth is. Jesus was able to spread the word for free and not in a mega mansion and helped the poor.

  3. I'm all in with Carmen as long as it isn't a movie about regrets and becomes a movie about finding happiness!
