If those three announced titles from yesterday weren't looney enough for your when it comes to craziness of their scripts, here's one even crazier: as Deadline reports, Karen Gillan will be joined by Aaron Paul and Jesse Eisenberg in science fiction movie DUEL which, both written and directed by Riley Stearns, sees her playing a woman who, after receiving a terminal diagnosis, opts for a cloning procedure to ease her loss on her friends and family. When she makes a miraculous recovery, her attempts to have her clone decommissioned fail and lead to a court-mandated duel to the death.

Nero's reign. The invasion of Parthia has been a fiasco. Two Roman legions have been brought to a stand still in the snowy mountains of Armenia, and the men are dying slowly in the cold. The rest of the Roman army is in Syria, only two weeks march away but the mountains swarm with Parthian patrols. Noreno (Lee Partridge), a half-Roman, is entrusted the mission of crossing the mountains to ask for help. However, he might not be the best option, he's an expert runner, but he despises Rome.
Yeah, I'll give both of these a miss.
ReplyDeleteWhy not give them a mister?
DeleteSounds like a good time to catch up on some reading LOL
ReplyDeleteCinema is quite dead.
DeleteI'll always watch a war film!
ReplyDeleteEven when it is with Mickey Rourke LOL
DeleteYikes!! The Karen Gillan movie is CRAZY! This is why cloning is illegal. No duels to the death as long as there is no cloning. I wonder if your clone has the same personality as you.. and wouldn't your clone still start out as a baby? So you got a good 20 years until your clone is a good replacement..
ReplyDeleteWhat kind of opponent do you think you'd be if you were to duel yourself? :) I think me and my clone would just sit like two walruses on a beach and bark at each other fighting just with growls.
Deletehahahahaha I wouldn't be a great opponent either. My clone and I aren't fighters.. at least, I don't think my clone would be.
DeleteWe are so useless :)
DeleteThe first film has a bizarre story line indeed. The idea of fighting oneself is scary for some reason. I imagine the rooftop scene of the Matrix haha
ReplyDeleteIt will definitely scare us from ever wanting to clone ourselves.
DeleteBattling yourself sounds like a conflict of interest. lol
ReplyDeleteTotally.
DeleteI looove Karen Gillan. Saw her in a few movies (Jumanji, most recently) and that TV show Selfie. She's a babe! :)
ReplyDeleteI always mix her up with Isla Fisher visually and Isla with Amy Adams :)
