'PERRY MASON' SERIES
AIRS THIS JUNE ON SKY AND HBO
I won't lie to you, people, summer TV landscape will be very sad this year, I've heard that some British channels, including BBC (
Normal People is allegedly the only new show they finished before the outbreak), have no more

new finished dramas and will do reruns, most international productions have also been halted and pilot season is dead so don't expect many new shows from Autumn. It also means that some of the networks will opt to order new seasons of old shows instead of giving a green light on new pilots (this

Sky Atlantic and then on

Matthew Rhys, John Lithgow and Tatiana Maslany in the lead roles.
Perry Mason Series Is Set
in 1931, Los Angeles. While the rest of the
country struggles through the Great Depression, this city is booming!

investigator, Mason is
haunted by his wartime experiences in France and suffering the effects
of a broken marriage, but a kidnap gone wrong leads to Mason exposing a
fractured city as he uncovers the truth of the crime.
I thought Perry Mason was a lawyer, not a private investigator? Maybe this is a "prequel" to him going to law school.
ReplyDeleteTatiana Maslany is a very talented young Canadian actress from the prairie province of Saskatchewan. Her biggest hit series so far is "Orphan Black" where she got rave reviews for playing multiple characters.
I've never watched that one, but I might watch the live music programme with Canadian stars this weekend for corona as I do love me both Celine and Shania who will sing.
DeleteI remember my mom watching the original Perry Mason. She'll probably end up watching this new one. After her daily soap opera, of course.
ReplyDeleteHope her daily soaps still have episodes shot, Brits are in shortage with theirs.
DeleteThey are probably on reruns right now, but she doesn't care. She'll still watch them daily.
DeleteNeighbours are apparently the first one that will continue shooting but under very strictly planned measures which will be a model then to other soaps. I'm guessing that means no sex scenes, and dialogues from a distance LOL
DeleteSounds positively boring then LOL
DeleteWe will all die from boredom soon, methinks. But Last Kingdom starts on Sunday, so at least there's something to postpone the death from dreariness.
DeleteI wonder why LA was booming when the rest of the US was in a depression?
ReplyDeleteBecause it is and was the home of millionaires, I guess :)
