'VICEROY'S HOUSE' MOVIE
WITH HUGH BONNEVILLE, MANISH DAYAL, GILLIAN ANDERSON
Not much to report to you today, so we're going to exotic locations, starting with a trip to India with a new historical movie VICEROY'S HOUSE which should come to the cinemas in the United Kingdom sometime later this year! It will see Huge Bonneville and Gillian Anderson playing an unlikely couple: Lord Mountbatten, the last viceroy of India and his wife. Michael Gambon and lovely Manish Dayal whom we fell in love with in A 100 FOOT JOURNEY also star!
THE STORY
In 1947, Lord Mountbatten assumes the post of last Viceroy, charged with handing India back to its people, living upstairs at the house which was the home of British rulers, whilst 500 Hindu, Muslim and Sikh servants lived downstairs.

'IGNACIO DE LOYOLA'
ANDREAS MUNOZ EPIC MOVIE
Meanwhile, in the clip department we're going international as I'm about to show you the first trailer for new historical epic movie IGNACIO DE LOYOLA which should arrive into cinemas probably this summer sometime in July! Andreas Munoz is playing St. Ignatius of Loyola, founder of the Society of Jesus.
FROM KNIGHT TO SAINT
The movie is told by a young priest who was once assigned to defend
him before the Spanish Inquisition following Ignacio's transformation
from a brash, impulsive youth obsessed with women and sword-fighting; to
the masterful, charismatic leader of an order that would change the
face of Christendom. In his lifelong quest to become the heroic Knight
of his fantasies, Ignacio stares death in the face again and again,
finding himself imprisoned for murder; having his leg shattered by a
cannonball in battle; driven to near suicide by his inner demons; and
finally finding his life in the hands of the Inquisition.
Loyola could be an interesting film, I think.
ReplyDeleteEuropeans do tend to make them better.
DeleteIt's always interesting to read about the lives of some of these "saints" before they became good people.
ReplyDeleteespecially when their lives were naughty :)
DeleteHello, Sherry!
Deleteshe didn't bring any sherry brandy
DeleteThe trailer was quite a beauty for the eye and thought provoking.
ReplyDeletehope we get a longer one soon
DeleteOkay, so I read your comment before I read Sheena-kay's....
Deleteand thought what?
DeleteLovely trailer, but that sawing off the leg had me cringing. It's scary to think of all the surgeries they did way back then without any painkillers.
ReplyDeleteyes, and also to think that antibiotics are extremely new thing! And that washing hands before surgeries came to be only in the 19th century or something like that.
DeleteI'd like to see Viceroy House. The Hubby and I love Gillian and we're now rewatching the X-Files from beginning to end.
ReplyDeleteLoyola looks really good. Andreas Munoz is dead sexy. Oh no, I'm having carnal thoughts about a Saint. I'm going to Hell!
Dahlink, I don't think you will like her in WAR AND PEACE, she is so stunningly bad in it, so shockingly amateurish, that she literally leaves me horrified in every of her scenes... thankfully she doesn't have them a lot in the new BBC series.
DeleteDahlink, we booked our tickets to hell long time ago, possibly when we were born :)
IGNACIO DE LOYOLA, sounds like some historical goodness?
ReplyDeletequite possibly if they don't overdo it with the religious bollocks, Fran
DeleteI would love to actually visit India. I'm not so sure about the Ignacio movie. It's probably something I'd only watch if it's in front of me.
ReplyDeletethe prettier part of India, that is
DeleteHas Gillian Anderson been gone for 10 years and just reappeared everywhere all of a sudden? Or am I just completely clueless about what she's been doing for the past decade?
ReplyDeletefor some reason, totally unknown to me, she's been shooting a lot in UK, which is strange since she has no British accent, is a truly truly bad actress with no method to her acting, and I thought she was from USA. She absolutely never fits into any of her UK projects, since even the young actors can give her a lesson or two in proper acting
DeleteOoh, lots off pretty peeps today. What a trailer. Thank you, Dezz.
ReplyDeleteP.S. LOVE the blue snowflakes.
Isn't Manish Delish the prettiest of them all?
DeleteYes, (drool, drool)
DeleteYou must not miss him in A 100 FOOT JOURNEY with Helen Mirren.
DeleteI love historical films. I'll probably have to check that one out. =)
ReplyDeleteif it ever appears across the pond :)
DeleteIndia was never handed back to the people... Just saying.
ReplyDeleteindeed it was not, just as the Brits never returned anything they stole and still live on it
DeleteIndeed. Tis a fact.
Deletea sad one
