THE WALKING DEAD
So, tell me people, how excited are you about the beginning of the new, fourth season, of THE WALKING DEAD show? October 13th brings the fourth run of the superpopular show to AMC following the airing of the first episode on channels around the world in the week after that. As you know it is one of the most watched dramas globally viewed in more than 170 countries. Today we bring you character posters for the new season along with all the tidbits you need to know before the zombies attack again this Autumn!
ZOMBIE TIDBITS
30 DAYS WITHOUT AN ACCIDENT
The
events in the first episode, titled "30
Days Without an Accident", are supposed to start some nine months after
the last season finale in which Rick (Andrew Lincoln ) managed to chase the Governor (David Morrisey) away from prison and Woodbury. With the new people brought to the prison the group has carved out an ideal life striving to hold onto their humanity in spite of everything they’ve endured. In the second episode they will encounter a new enemy and Rick and the others will battle hard to protect their fiercely fought livelihood.
CROWDED PRISON
APOCALYPTIC FARMING
Since they brought a large number of people from Woodbury with them, the prison will be much more crowded with survivors, but as you've seen in the season finale, those are mostly older people, women and little kids. Rick will have to find new help in Tyreese (Chad L. Coleman) and his people. Some of the old characters will have to toughen up, like Carol (Melissa McBride), who will obviously replace Andrea in being the brave lady in the group. She will even be teaching a knife class! As we've seen in the trailer, the prison will have their garden and pigsty and they will do some apocalyptic farming, but the supplies still won't be abundant so a team will set off from the prison in the third episode in search of vital supplies! While the supply expedition hits obstacles, the situation at the prison will worsen.

With the new showrunner Scott M.Gimple, the events in the story will escalate, and as you can see in the trailer the prison will no
longer seem as a safe place especially under the attack of new, much
more unstoppable, swarms of zombies! The new season will see the undead
undergoing a certain evolution and changes and becoming much more
dangerous. To protect themselves from the walkers, the prison will have
lots of security tricks and traps put around the premises and we shall
also see a new, much stronger, gate at the entrance. This won't help
them much since they will be faced with the attacks from the inside!
THE NEW COMMUNITY
KARL AND DARYL
Rick will have other worries too. Since we've seen little Carl (Chandler Riggs) turning into a dangerous sociopath Rick will have to straighten up his parental duties. And he will have other people issues, since with the prison having a whole new community, there will be frictions between the characters. There will even be fights between Rick and good old Daryl (Norman Reedus)! Without his brute of a brother who became a delightful zombie, crossbow wielding Daryl will continue with discovering his own self-worth and with taking responsibilities within the group.

RICKTATORSHIP IS OVER
MICHONNE ON A HORSE
Maggie (Lauren Cohan) and Glenn (Steven Yeun) will continue with their romance giving a glimpse of warmth in the harsh zombie world. They will be faced with new doubts too in the new season. Meanwhile, Michonne (Danai Gurira) will find an uber cool new ride - she will be slaying zombies on top of a horse and she will also smile and joke more! One of the new characters will be Bob Stookey (Lawrence Gilliard) a former army medic who will be discovered by Daryl! The Governor will only appear in the story again when we least expect him! Michonne will be on the mission to hunt him down! Instead of the Ricktatorship from the previous season, the prison will now have a Council bringing important decision.
Can't wait!!!! I haven't even read your post or viewed the trailer, I don't want to know anything!!!!
ReplyDeleteI didn't put too much spoilers in it, Ray, just some general guidelines :)
DeleteI haven't seen any seasons of the show yet
ReplyDeleteyou should, it's probably the best dramatic show ever with extremely deep moral and psychological issues being dealt with in it.
DeleteYup Can't wait I shall be eagerly scanning the interweb on the 14th!
ReplyDeletethat's when the zombimania starts every year :)
DeleteI was hoping the show would actually involve zombies this season, since last season seemed zombie lite.
ReplyDeletewell they did collect zombies in those holes and used them quite originally in Governor's gladiatorial games :) And Merle was a delightful, albeit shortlived, zombie :)
DeleteThere will be swarms of them this time, since somebody will be leaving baits for them around the prison :(
Okay....I'm in!
ReplyDeleteI knew you would be, Fran
DeleteHey, Dez! Happy Sunday! My editor went on a 5K zombie survival run. Sounds like it was all kinds of fun.
ReplyDeleteHope she survived :P
DeleteI couldn't read much since it would've spoiled season 3 which I'm still watching! But I can't wait to be able to watch season 4 because it is a very fun show!
ReplyDeleteSeason 3 was my least fave because it had too much people violence, hope the new season will be more in tone of the psychological first and second one
DeleteSuper excited! I think this season is going to create a big ripple in the zombie pond-one hopes!
ReplyDeleteyou're never really safe in the zombie world :) We should know.....
Deletei stopped watching it, not that i was bored... just my connection was lost. ah, someday... not that i don't have some spoilers from the images that i am hiding.
ReplyDelete'tis my fave show. I await each episode with great anticipation, just adore the psychological aspect of it and all the philosophical dilemmas
DeleteI really think 'The Walking Dead' went astray by keeping the Governor alive. He should have died last season. Too much Governor antics is not a good thing. They should have moved on. Also, I'm getting more and more concerned each time a new showrunner takes over. How many times can they fire their exec producer. First Darabont, then Glen Mazara. Will Gimple be next to go?
ReplyDeleteAMC is all about nickle and diming the show, which worries me. They once suggested that they film more indoor scenes so the zombies were "heard" not seen so they could save money. That's when Darabont got booted.
I fully agree, I don't want Governor in the new season either. Hope the new showrunner is good, I've read reviews of first two episodes on some sites who visited the prescreening and they say the new one did a good job. Fingers crossed that he doesn't turn it into an action gorefest, but keeps the psychological and moral drama.
DeleteI just started watching Season 3 so I only looked at the pictures in your post incase their were any spoilers. I liked the pictures. :)
ReplyDeleteooh, season 3 was my least favourite, too much violence between the humans :(
DeleteI agree about the governor, but still love this series. I'm interested in seeing the continued evolution of Carl (little) and Glenn. I'm wondering just how hardcore Carl is going to become. Can't wait!
ReplyDeleteI hope not too much, Carl was one of the elements I deliberated to stop watching the show before, since I don't approve of the shows and films which put kids in violent situations. The profound psychological study in the show is why I continued watching
