Now if this ain't delightful, I don't know what is: Deadline writes that Oscar winning Octavia Spencer will take over the legendary role from Angela Lansbury in the new TV remake of MURDER, SHE WROTE! NBC is planning to revive one of the most successful series in TV history about the astute amateur detective! The story of the new show will follow a hospital administrator and amateur sleuth (Octavia Spencer) who self-publishes her first mystery novel. Set in a day where sensational headlines inundate the news, this woman’s avid fascination with true crime leads her to become an active participant in the investigations.
BBC'S 'GANGSTA GRANNY' GETS
JOANNA LUMLEY, JULIA MCKENZIE, DAVID WALLIAMS
Now here's a delightful project: Digital Spy reports that BBC is
ready to start shooting their one hour TV film GANGSTA GRANNY based on
David Walliams' bestselling novel. Famous Miss Marple Julia McKenzie will
play the grandma whose grandson (Reece Buttery) becomes bored after
coming to live with her. However, she soon tells him the story of when
she used to be an international jewel thief, before they join forces to
complete the big heist she never completed. ABSOLUTELY FABULOUS Joanna
Lumley will play the Queen of England, with Miranda Hart and David
Walliams playing his parents and Rob Brydon will play nosy neighbour Mr
Parker, who could end up ruining the robbery plan.

I avoided all of the captain america stuff, i want to be in the dark. no more remakes, do we really need murder, she wrote... let angela do it. next we will have a bunch of 80's classics unveiled. maybe even bj and the bear, scarecrow and mrs king... so many.

Deletecharming, yes... shows like this have not done so great, not because of the actors... the network will cut them off before they get there legs.
Deletethat is always a risk which all of the new shows face... I actually wish more of the shows would get cancelled and make space for better ones :)

DeleteI'm not sure about a murder she wrote remake it doesn't seem right to me. Bit like I can't watch the new versions of Superman either. Much prefer the older characters I think.

I generally liked the latest Superman, and I'm somebody who never watches superhero flicks ;) The actors were amazing, the only thing I didn't like was too much destruction in it.
