I've reported earlier on this, but now British ITV is finally moving on with it: they have found the lead for their ultra lavish television series adaptation of Thackeray's Victorian saga VANITY FAIR! The seven episode epic series will also stream on Amazon. Mammoth Screen who is producing Poldark and Victoria will be doing this one as well!
Olivia Cooke (who recently went Victorian in Limehouse Golem) will take the lead role of Becky Sharp in the series
that follows her stoic and unscrupulous attempts to make her way in

The psychological thriller drama is set in 1896, when a series of gruesome murders of boy prostitutes has gripped the city. Newly appointed top cop Teddy Roosevelt calls upon Dr. Laszlo Kreizler (Daniel Bruhl), a criminal psychologist, aka alienist, and newspaper illustrator John Moore (Luke Evans) to conduct the investigation in secret. Casting news today, starting with 'Hollywood Reporter' writing that Nicole Kidman has joined THE KILLING OF A SACRED DEER in which Colin Farrell will join director YorgosLanthimos again after LOBSTER. She will play his wife, with Farrell a successful surgeon who attempts to integrate a teenager into his family, but when the teen’s actions grow increasingly sinister, the doctor is forced to make an unthinkable sacrifice.

Lipstadt’s (played by Rachel Weisz) about her legal battle for historical truth against David Irving (Timothy Spall), who accused her of libel! In the English legal system, the burden of proof is on the accused, therefore it was up to Lipstadt and her legal team to prove the essential truth that the Holocaust occurred. Tom Wilkinson also stars alongside Andrew Scott in the biographical drama.
In the news from the YA front, Netflix will team up with teen star, music star and ex Disney star Selena Gomez on the series adaptation of Jay Asher's bestselling novel THIRTEEN REASONS WHY! Pulitzer Prize winner Brian Yorkey has written the series for Netflix titled simply THIRTEEN REASONS and in it the story explores the tragic suicide of a lonely high school student named Hannah Baker (Selena Gomez).
It explores Hannah's past through tapes she sent to classmates explaining how they contributed to her misery.

Sony Pictures has revealed that Argentinian movie maker Andres Muschietti (horror movie MAMA) will direct their video game big screen adaptation SHADOW OF THE COLOSSUS! Set in an epic scale world filled with mythical giants and disembodies spirits, this fantasy adventure will revolve around a young man named Wander, who is given a seemingly impossible task - defeating sixteen massive colossi in order to save a girl named Mono, and restore peace and order to his kingdom.
