The series begins when the body of teenage figure skater Sophie Madsen is discovered sending shock waves through the town of Wake- stead. As DI Crane (played by Michelle Keegan) and DI Radley (Douglas Booth) dig deeper, what starts as a tragic death, spirals into a tangled web of lies, institutional cover-ups, andmoral compromise. As the clock ticks and trust fractures, Crane must navigate both a murder investigation and the treacherous politics inside her own team. Joe Armstrong and Ian Hart also star.  The six episode series will air from Sunday September 20th in UK. BBC has sent us the first trailer for the second season of their period set series TEN POUND POMS which sees the return of Michelle Keegan as nurse Kate Thorne, and Faye Marsay and Warren Brown as Annie and Terry. The series will return March 9th to BBC airing on Sunday evenings and will also stream on Stan at some point in Australia. WHAT IS THE SECOND SEASON STORY?

After a challenging first year in Australia, series two follows nurse Kate Thorne (Michelle Keegan) and the Roberts family (Faye Marsay and Warren Brown) into 1957 on their adventure down under, each determined against all odds to achieve their slice of the Australian dream. After adding Paul Mescal in the lead role, the sequel to Ridley Scott's GLADIATOR has now also added Joseph Quinn as emperor Caracalla with Connie Nielsen in negotiations to return to her original role of Lucilla who is the mother of Lucius, now the protagonist of the movie and portrayed by Mescal. The film is currently set for a November 22nd, 2024 release in cinemas. Fans' favourite Joseph Quinn is no stranger to historical drama and if you follow our blog for more than a decade you know that he first shone in period set series Dickensian, Les Miserables, Howard's End and Catherine the Great.

I forgot to show you this one last night, but here it is now: Disney has released first trailer for their new enchanting animated adventure movie WISH which will debut in theatres around you November 22nd  set in the fantastical kingdom of Rosas, which is ruled over by a king voiced by Chris Pine. A number of Disney's recent animated movies, including Encanto and Strange World, has flopped at the box office, so it will be interesting to see if this one will score success.

The images for the series that will also air on Stan streamer in Australia, feature Michelle Keegan as Kate, Faye Marsay as Annie and Warren Brown as Terry. Hattie Hook appears as Pattie, Finn Treacy as Peter, David Field as Dean, Sophie Gregg as Tina, Cheree Cassidy as Marlene and Rob Collins as Ron.

 

 THE SIX EPISODE SERIES

follows a group of Brits as they embark on a life-altering adventure on the other side of the world. For only a tenner, they have been promised a better house, better job prospects and a better quality of life by the sea in sun-soaked Australia. But life down under isn’t exactly the idyllic dream the new arrivals have been promised. Struggling with their new identity as immigrants, we follow their triumphs and pitfalls as they adapt to a new life in a new country, far from Britain and familiarity.At the heart of the drama are Annie (Faye Marsay) and Terry Roberts (Warren Brown). They try to make the best of the situation for their family, but the poor living conditions at the migrant hostel and local attitudes towards immigrants test them in ways they couldn’t have imagined. They aren’t the only people at the hostel avoiding the truth. Kate (Michelle Keegan) is a young nurse who arrives without her fiancé and will do whatever it takes to try and rewrite her devastating past. Bill (Leon Ford) has lost his family business back home and is so desperate to prove he’s living the Australian dream that he’ll stop at nothing in order to get a lifestyle he can’t sustain. After an unexpected break up, a travel executive (Cook) accepts an assignment to go undercover and learn about the tourist industry in Vietnam. Along the way she finds adventure and romance with her Vietnamese expat tour guide when they decide to hijack the tour bus in order to explore life and love off the beaten path. While you are enjoying his Django series which launched last week, Matthias Schoenaerts has just scored a lead role in LE FAUX SOIR WW2 movie drama according to Screen Daily!  Set in 1943, it tells the story of when the Belgian resistance secretly produced a spoof version of the country’s leading newspaper, Le Soir, which had become a propaganda tool of the occupying Nazi forces. He will play Belgian resistance hero in the movie directed by Michael R. Roskam.

novel PARIS INTERZONE into mini TV series. As Variety reports, the ambitious series, which William Boyd is writing and is being co-produced by Ian Benson, will shed light on a counterintelligence program that was launched by the CIA and operated by a secret unit within the American embassy in Paris. Their mission was to infiltrate the literary cafes of the Left Bank in Paris and spy on expat American artists and authors. At that time in the U.S., under the McCarthy era, many authors, especially black and gay ones, were oppressed and jailed. The series will be a modern, glamorous noir thriller laced with a love triangle between a French editor and two American characters.
