Don't know about her...and it's French..so I will pass this one. Merry Christmas, Dezzy!
ReplyDeleteYou have never heard of Sarah Bernhardt? Wow.... Merry festivus to you as well, I am eating beans for dindins as that is the custom here.
DeleteI hope you have a nice Christmas.
ReplyDeleteThanks, Mary, a working one as usual, need to finish the translation of a book before the end of the week so that I can send it to the publisher before the year is over :)
DeleteI liked Amira Casar in Versailles - well acted series but not really true to history. She does a convincing English accent - but she was born in London. I thought her French accent was good too but she's multilingual I believe.
ReplyDeleteAmira is also quite good in her latest series La Maison with Lambert Wilson, it is a fashion show.
DeleteI imagine it must have been perplexing to have someone ask for your autograph before it was a widespread occurrence of the famous. I still find it an odd request because to me it seems stupid to hang onto something with a name written on it, but what do I know 🤷🏻♀️
ReplyDeleteI did sign a couple of books I translated, don't know why'd anyone need it, but kids like it. When you are a public person it always comes with at least some fans. I occasionally get fan mail over at Facebook, but always forget to check out the box for non friend's messages.
DeleteI am ok with authors and translators and artists signing their creations. But to give someone a napkin or piece of paper that they have no real ties to is beyond me.
DeletePeople are obsessed with celebs.
