AMIR JADIDI TO PLAY
MANSOUR BAHRAMI IN A HERO BIOPIC
And it will be a biopic on the famous tennis legend with gorgeous Amir Jadidi leading A HERO from Romuald Boulanger! As Deadline reports, Iran-born
Bahrami, 68, is a popular figure on the international tennis tournament circuit for his entertaining playing style and extraordinary life story.
Born in Iran in the 1950s, he taught himself to play tennis using a frying pan as a racket and disused swimming pool as his court.
Following the Iranian Revolution in 1979, he fled to France. Stateless, penniless and homeless, he wandered the streets of Paris by night and slept in the locker room of Roland Garros during the day, but never lost hope.
The film will capture how through sheer determination and quick wit, Bahrami navigated the complexities of life as an illegal immigrant, while forming lasting bonds with tennis icons who recognized his talent, to fulfil his childhood dream of playing at Roland Garros.
The film with Amir Jadidi will be shopped at Cannes |
What an inspiring story! I wonder if the frying pan held the same weight as the tennis rackets he used later on. I imagine you'd have to learn to adjust your swing after learning with one weight opposed to the other.
ReplyDeleteMany tennis stars had such a story, Novak Djokovic also trained in an empty pool while Americans were dropping bombs on our heads, and it did not stop him to become the most awarded tennis player ever.
