THE SEVEN DIALS MYSTERY
NETFLIX AGATHA CHRISTIE ADAPTATION
Beside BBC it seems Netflix is venturing into Agatha Christie adaptations as well by ordering a mini series based on her THE SEVEN
DIALS MYSTERY in which a healthy young man dies in his sleep, despite the ringing of eight separate alarm clocks. Gerry Wade had proved himself to be a champion sleeper; so the other house guests decided to play a practical joke on him... Eight alarm clocks were set to go off, one after the other, starting at 6.30 a.m. But when morning arrived, one clock was missing and the prank had backfired with tragic consequences. Suzanne Mackie is the show runner and producer with Chris Chibnall penning the script.

Not a fan of her..actually just delete all her books from my Kindle. We just watched an Argentine series Rest In Peace...well, American is better doing thrillers.
ReplyDeleteThey haven't made a good Christie adaptation since Peter Ustinov, methinks, all of the ones from previous years, both series and films , were godawful and lacking in atmosphere, I just tried Murder is Easy from BBC a few weeks ago and couldn't venture pass the first episode it was that boring.
DeleteAgatha Christie's adaptations in the last years have been so disastrous...
ReplyDeleteAgreed, I tried watching Murder is Easy a few weeks ago couldn't handle it past the first ep it was that bland and poorly made.
DeleteI won't be adding it to my Netflix queue. I don't see them doing any better of a job than what's already to (horribly) done recently.
ReplyDeleteEven Kenneth Branagh's movies were unwatchable and terrible.
