When I first saw the word, Hamnet, I wondered if it was a typo. I see it's not. Sounds like a tale full of heart-wrenching drama.
ReplyDeleteThe book was a worldwide hit.
DeleteHamlet and Hamnet have nothing to do with each , haven't they? Or did Hamnet's death influence Shakespeare's writing of Hamlet?
ReplyDeleteIt did, he wrote Hamlet four years after the death of Hamnet at the age of 11. During his life, though, Shakespeare rarely saw him as he was already a popular playwright and was spending his time in London mostly. Back then he was writing only comedies, but a few years after Hamnet's death started writing his most famous tragedies probably under the influence of that experience.
DeleteI want to read the book ;D
ReplyDeleteWhat is stopping you?
