TV UPDATES: ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL, MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE GET THIRD SEASONS! WARRIOR EPIC TV SERIES THIRD SEASON STARTS SHOOTING FOR HBO MAX

  SHORT TV HEADLINES
ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL THIRD SEASON
Short TV updates for you today, starting with news from PBS who have announced that ALL CREATURES GREAT AND SMALL series will return with the third season January 8th following everybody's favourite country vet,
Season three will arrive this Autumn in UK
played by Nicholas Ralph, in six new episodes plus a Christmas one. In Europe, third season will probably arrive before that, in September. All of the cast returns for the new season. In the third season the cantankerous Siegfried (Simon West) will navigate his relationship with younger brother and blossoming vet Tristan (Callum Woodhouse), and will also have to confront his own past with World War I coming back to haunt him. Meanwhile, Mrs. Hall (Anna Madeley) and Helen (Rachel Shenton) have similar challenges in this season, with Helen trying to balance being a wife and leaving behind a previous life and having to navigate what that’s like, and Mrs. Hall figuring out if there’s a life outside Skeldale House. The spread of tuberculosis also plays a major role in Season 3 and James must learn how to go about those procedures.

MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE
Although PBS is yet to air the second season from October 16th after already airing in UK last month, MISS SCARLET AND THE DUKE will launch the third season too from January 8th on PBS for the audience in USA. This means the third season of the series which follows Britain's first female detective will arrive to Europe sometime this Autumn ahead of the US premiere. On Sunday October 16th, PBS Masterpiece will also start Lesley Manville's Magpie Murders which already streamed in Europe on Britbox.

WARRIOR SEASON THREE
Meanwhile, after a two year break, the third season of WARRIOR series has begun shooting for HBO Max where it had moved from Cinemax.
The third season will air on HBO Max
The series takes place during the brutal Tong Wars of San Francisco’s Chinatown in the late 19th century.  Andrew Koji returns as Ah Sahm, Olivia Cheng as Ah Toy, Jason Tobin as Young Jun, Dianne Doan as Mai Ling, Kieran Bew as Bill O’Hara, Dean Jagger as Dylan Leary, Tom Weston Jones as Richard Lee, Hoon Lee as Wang Chao, Joe Taslim as Li Yong, Langley Kirkwood as Walter Buckley, Perry Yung as Father Jun, with new additions in Mark Dacascos as Kong Pak, the former leader of a newly absorbed, Long Zii-affiliated tong and Li Yong’s old friend and mentor, and Chelsea Muirhead as Yan Mi, the unassuming but shrewd daughter of a local print shop maker based in Chinatown. The ten episode third season will arrive next year, hopefully.

  1. I binge watched Miss Scarlet and really enjoyed. I wonder why PBS is dragging their feet to bring the second season to the US.

    1. Because it is a British, not American show :) so we have the priviledge to watch here way ahead than you LOL Magpie Murders, for example, aired earlier this spring in Europe. Leonardo which starts August on CW aired in Europe almost two years ago.

    2. This time is not about the supremacy of American over British shows, since Miss Scarlett has already been shown in a slot that from XX century onwards has been allotted to British series (PBS Masterpiece). It is not like they have dragged a long time in bringing the second season. It debuted in England less than two months ago. This is the way PBS Masterpiece operates they tend to bring BBC/ITV shows 3-5 months after they have debuted in British tv screens. An exception was made with Sanditon 2 that debuted simultaneously on both sides of the Atlantic. Miss Scarlett debuted on June and will be seen in USA in October. Again, the reason is not neglect or contempt, but time of the year. Everything that is good, and it’s hoped to reap high ratings is shown in TV (and theaters) from September-January, never in summer when everybody is out or on vacation. PBS Masterpiece tends to rely on re-runs during the summer season (or utter garbage like Hotel Portofino) although Mystery relies on two standards Endeavour and Grantchester that apparently have less appeal than Miss Scarlett. Because they know Ms. Scarlett already has a fandom is that they are saving it for the autumn term.
Sadly, Leonardo is a different story. It is not British, and we know how hard it is for American streaming companies to buy continental productions. The problem is that Netflix claimed they had bought it then it turned up Amazon Prime had the rights. They showed it in the UK but not in the USA or Latin America. I wonder why. Finally, a cable channel (CW) picked it up. All these bouncing around obeys to very mysterious reasons.

    3. And as an opposite example we have Sanditon season 2 which is only now preparing to air in UK.

    4. Thank you for clarifying the Sanditon story. I was under the impression that it had been a simultaneous debut. I can’t think of any other time when a British product has come to America first. I wonder if they’ll do the same with the third season.
So, you finally got to see Germinal and it disappointed you. I know the feeling. I’m forcing myself to watch the second season of The Beauty Queen of Jerusalem and clenching my teeth so hard, I fear I may lose a molar.

    5. Sanditon has such a complicated airing story: it did air in March in UK but on Britbox which is a paid streamer, but last weekend it finally started on ITV as well for the general audience. It is because ITV originally did not want to pay for the production of the second season so now they bought it for airing but months after the streaming debut. No, I cannot find Germinal, that is the disappointment.

    6. I stayed up until 1:30am trying to see f Germinal has been shown here. It was in Canadian TV (but a French speaking channel). My conclusion is that it has yet to get English subtitles (or Spanish or all that matters).
I discovered a lot of other nasty news. You are looking for Germinal, I’m on the prowl for Passport to Freedom, a 2021 Brazilian miniseries. The rub is that Globo (the largest richest network in Brazil) made it in English. Brazilian actors talking in English or being dubbed and yet it has not been purchased ny none of the streaming services, or networks here or I the UK.
Another nasty surprise. I wanted to re-watch Charite to ascertain if (as you so claim) Alicia is such a poor and plain actress. It turned up that Netflix refused to buy the third season, so it has erased both Charite and Charite at War from their library. I cannot believe it. They had such garbage, and they exile the good stuff. Worse, no other streaming service has picked the Charites.
it’s so annoying, when one piece of s-t like Land Girls can be found in Netflix (Tubi for free) and BritBox. I believe Acorn carries it too. I guess Charite run into the same bad luck than Das Boot, and will remain in a limbo because like Hulu, Netflix refuses to buy more seasons.

    7. They do erase things after certain time of streaming over at Netflix, they have a number of things that are leaving Netflix every month.

    8. It's like rubbing a lamp and getting a genie. The Euro TV Place just revealed its August guide. Charite has moved to PBS Masterpiece, but only season 1

    9. I will visit Euro today. But when you say Charite what do you have in mind? I only know of Bazar de la Charite, but that one never had two season as far as I know....

    10. Noo, that thing was an aberration that deserved not even one season. I’m talking about a German series (2017-2021) that deals with doings at Charité which is the oldest hospital in Berlin. It has three seasons: 1880s, 1945 and 1961. Netflix carried the first two from 2018 until June this year. I’ll send you the full data via Messenger

    11. Never heard of it before, but it does not look like something I would like especially with that abomination in the cast lol

    12. I can understand that you wouldn’t want to try it if Alicia repugns you, and if you are not into medical dramas. I liked both, but I loved the second season better. Alicia obviously was not in it since it happened half a century later. It included a very romantic and moving gay romance. One of the partners was Jannik Schumann who played Franz Josef in Sisi.

    13. Schumann is very hot indeed.

  3. I know I've said this a bazillion times, but I really need to just the pay monthly fee for PBS through Prime. I know that All Creatures Great and Small will quickly become favorite show of mine. Was the 2nd season as delightful as the first?

    1. I'm in the middle of it right now, it is very cute, lots of chicken, cows and dogs in it, even a fat pig with a pimple on her head. Not a lot of cats, though....

  4. I wasn't sure that Miss Scarlet would get an audience, but it must be decent with a 3rd season on the horizon. I can't remember. Did you ever watch it?
