 ELIZABETH STREET TV SERIES
COMING FROM EDOARDO PONTI
Meanwhile, their Italian neighbour Edoardo Ponti (Sophia Lauren's son) will direct a TV series adaptation of Laurie Fabiano's 2010 historical
Elizabeth Street will become a TV series
bestseller ELIZABETH STREET for Sony Television. Following Fabiano's great grandmother's epic struggles, the series is set in New York’s Little Italy at the dawn of the 20th century. It follows Giovanna Pontillo, an Italian immigrant reeling in the wake of personal tragedy. Arriving in America, her survival and success on the streets of Old New York soon draws the unwanted attention of the notorious Black Hand, the earliest form of the Italian-American Mafia. As the stakes grow higher, Giovanna desperately fights to save what is important above all else – family. Fabiano said it took her twenty years to extract the story from her grandmother and ten more to write it.

  1. Not sure either one would be something for me.

  2. I legit just started a new book yesterday.. but Elizabeth Street is going to be my next read. This eerily sounds like several different stories of my own family. Both my parents could write similar books.

    1. I thought you'd be interested. Her granny was apparently abducted by the Black Hand when she was like four or six years old and did not want to talk about it much.

    2. I already bought it and it's my Audible queue to be listened to next. Now I regret staring my other read since the beginning of the book is slow moving.

    3. We do ever so hate slow books.

    4. Yea, but this motivated me to speed it up. I showed my grandfather your site yesterday with this book. He told me that if I write a review of this book, he'll print that review in his monthly Italian Club newsletter. LMAO #goals

  4. They both sounds like something I could get lost in. Sign me up! And how French is the name Jean Baptiste? French names always sound so posh.

    1. And inpronunciable LOL Just try to pronounce the surname of that actress that plays the stepmommy!

    2. I think Serephine is a gorgeous name, but holy hell I need to hear Fougerolles pronounced. I'd surely butcher it with my broken French!

    3. I bet 'lles' at the end isn't even pronounced, lol. They are very dramatic with their writing, they make it long and majestic and then just gasp the word in two sounds.

  5. I'm pretty much only into Hollywood movies and TV shows (maybe some indie but still usually US-produced) so, I'm not familar with any of the names/faces in here. 😏🤷‍♂️

    1. None of these above is internationally famous, so this is the first time I am hearing about them as well. I think you are missing out on a lot as European and International shows and films are usually much more open minded than American or UK ones.
