NEW COMEDY TV SERIES
UNCOUPLED & NIGHT COURT & SMALLWOOD GET SERIES ORDERS
With Mom, Bob Hearts Abishola and Last Man Standing ending next week (Mom and LMS for good), the comedy landscape on the telly will be sad till
next season, but some new series have been ordered already. UNCOUPLED is among them, over at Netflix. Coming from Darren Star, the 8 part sitcom will follow Michael, who thought his life was perfect until his husband blindsided him by walking out the door after 17 years. Overnight, Michael has to confront two nightmares - losing what he thought was his soulmate and suddenly finding himself a single gay man in his mid-40s in New York City. NBC has ordered a sequel to classic multicam sitcom NIGHT COURT which will now follow the unapologetic optimist judge Abby Stone (Melissa Rauch), daughter of the late Harry Stone, who follows in her father’s footsteps as she presides over the night shift of a Manhattan arraignment court and tries to bring order to its crew of oddballs and cynics, most notably former night court prosecutor Dan Fielding (John Larroquette reprises his role from the original 80's series). Stay tuned for more sitcom news as most
networks will have their upfronts (the time when they announce projects for next season) next week! CBS has ordered SMALLWOOD multicam with Pete Holmes as a guy who gets laid off from the assembly line of the GM factory and decides to follow his dream of becoming a professional bowler.

Night Court? I loved that show and John Larroquette is going to be back too? Sounds good to me.
ReplyDeleteYes, good thing he is still alive so he can come back :)
DeleteUncoupled sounds interesting. I may check it out, actually. 🙂 Also, doesn't hurt that Darren Star is a part of it. Seen quite a few of his productions and... He knows what he's doing. 👍🏻
ReplyDeleteHe does, I just hope we will like the casting of the lead :) Someone hot but in a dorky cute way.
DeleteHave a feeling we've all hated James Norton recently, in that kinda awful movie Things Heard & Seen. 😏
DeleteI haven't seen that one, but I want to see that film in which he plays a terminally ill single and very poor father. Love him to bits.
DeleteLove Melissa Rauch playing Bernadette in Big Bang Theory!
ReplyDeleteI haven't watched that one. I did try but never found it funny. How I Met Your Mother too.
DeleteBoth uncouple and night court are interesting to watch
ReplyDeleteWe do need more comedies on TV but I am afraid they are slowly dying out.
DeleteMelissa Rauch....
ReplyDeleteI have never heard of her before, but she is obviously popular.
DeletePS I did respond to your e-mail, but you obviously never got it.
Night Court was my jam back in the day. I am super excited about the new series. I hope it's as good as the original and not all "woke" like they are trying to make shows these days.
ReplyDeleteGod knows we need a comedy as everything they've ordered so far is pure shit and NBC won't even have comedies in Autumn! I never count on ABC, so I'm waiting what will Fox pair up Call me Kat with now that LMS will be dead. I don't like what CBS has ordered either, so I'm very afraid from the next season. Hope Netflix at least renews Country Comfort.
DeleteGood Lord, with the lack of things to watch on the horizon, might be time to subscribe to Porn Hub bwahahaha!
DeleteThankfully that one does not require subscription and I already watch it feverishly LOL
DeleteWe have been lockdown for 17 days and it will over tomorrow. I really need a Comedy but i am not sure whether these make me smile or not
ReplyDeleteHope it wasn't a total lockdown. They are slowly taking down measures here.
DeleteIf someone gave me enough proof that the government was going to do mass assassination's today, I may believe it. Especially with the most recent COVID19 legislations. I've been sick to my stomach all day over it!
ReplyDeleteWhat legislation?
DeleteThey removed all mask restrictions and social distancing restrictions for vaccinated people. Several problems with this, especially since Pfizer and Moderna don't stop or even limit the spread of the virus. My biggest problem is how the mask will become a label of the unvaccinated instead of protection. Reminds me of the Nazis and the Jewish Star.. My second biggest problem is that asymptotic people were the issue with covid in the first place. A vaccinated person with Moderna or Pfizer are basically a manmade asymptomatic person. The US was marching in the streets this time last year because of discrimination and injustices, am I being dramatic or will this be the new prejudice?
DeleteHow nasty! It is their way to make the world give them money for vaccines. Another proof that the world is ruled by pharmaco mafia.
