THE GREEN KNIGHT
IS ARRIVING THIS SUMMER
I'm not entirely sure why they keep trying to convince us that Dev Patel is, with his utter lack of screen presence, a lead star material, let alone a knight material, but he obviously has friends in high places. He leads another
shamelessly revisionist take on history and myths in THE GREEN KNIGHT historical fantasy which will arrive to cinemas only July 30th. They've released new trailer too, and it looked to me like a parody or a bad comedy, but I don't think that was their goal.
The film should arrive to cinemas at the end of July
WHEN COURAGE MADE KINGS An epic fantasy adventure based on the timeless Arthurian legend, The Green Knight tells the story of Sir Gawain (Dev Patel), King Arthur's reckless and headstrong nephew, who embarks on a daring quest to confront the eponymous Green Knight, a gigantic emerald-WHO ELSE IS IN THE CAST?
skinned stranger and tester of men. Gawain contends with ghosts,
giants, thieves, and schemers in what becomes a deeper journey to
character and prove his worth in the eyes of his family and
kingdom by facing the ultimate challenger. From visionary filmmaker
David Lowery comes a fresh and bold spin on a classic tale from the
knights of the round table.
The film was directed by Pete Dragon's David Lowery
Alicia Vikander leads the female part of the cast
As you can see in some of the character posters (which are still the ugliest ones we've ever seen for any film), the rest of the equally bland cast also includes Ralph Ineson as the Green Knight himself, Joel Edgerton as
Lord, Alicia Vikander as Essel, Sarita Choudhury as Mother, Sean Harris as King, Kate Dickie as Queen! The film has been postponed a couple of times and will hit theatres this summer.
Although the legends itself is not violent, the film is R rated
