BALENCIAGA TV SERIES
ON FAMOUS SPANISH DESIGNER
We already had a series on Gianni Versache, we're getting Ewan McGregor one on Halston, and now we will get a TV series on famous Spanish fashion designer CRISTOBAL BALENCIAGA from Viacom CBS and Testament of
Youth director James Kent.
The series will be done at CBS International |
The series will depict the life of Balenciaga, who helped lead a
revolution in fashion, with his precision and perfectionism earning him
the admiration of contemporaries, including Christian Dior, Hubert de
Givenchy, and Coco Chanel. In 1917, at the age of 22, he established his
first fashion house in San Sebastian, and later opened fashion houses
in Madrid and Barcelona, before moving to Paris in 1937, where his work
won the admiration of an influential cosmopolitan clientèle. In the
1950s, Balenciaga unveiled never-before-seen styles and shapes, which
were considered radical designs at
the time. As you remember, the same
studio is also preparing a series on Italian female artist Artemisia Gentileschi, one of the most accomplished painters in the Baroque
period!

This looks pretty good!! Unfortunately, I just cancelled my CBS all access subscription because I got mad that they weren't streaming the parade this year!
ReplyDeleteThis is just CBS International studios, does not mean it will air there :)
DeleteI cannot wait to see the fashions in this one!
ReplyDeleteShould be really beautiful especially having that era in mind, the fashion was really cool then. Especially in the early 50s when people were sick with war and wanted some glamour and colours in their lives.
DeleteSuch an interesting life, don't know much about...
ReplyDeleteThis show will let us found out more about him.
DeleteNever heard of him so the show should be an interesting one to watch.
ReplyDeletehe is probably one of top ten most famous designers ever. Very refined and comfy and simplistic in style. I personally think they ruined his legacy with the ugly sneakers they've released a few years ago and those sneakers that you pull on like a sock.
