HOLLYWOOD SPY'S SPOTLIGHT ON THIS JULY'S HILARIOUS ANIMATED ADVENTURE "ICE AGE 4: CONTINENTAL DRIFT"!

As you've probably noticed, this year will be filled with great animated films, from Scottish epic BRAVE, and hilarious HOTEL TRANSYLVANIA, to spectacular RISE OF THE GUARDIANS, and definitely one of the most anticipated ones will be the fourth part of the most successful animated franchise ever ICE AGE: CONTINENTAL DRIFT which is ready to hit cinemas and amaze us with visuals and lovely humour this July! In the film, Scrat's pursuit of the acorn has world-changing consequences, forcing Manny, Sid and Diego on an adventure, where Sid reunites with his long lost family, Diego finds his love interest, Shira, and they meet a gang of pirates determined to stop them from returning home.
ICE AGE STORY
The story of the fourth part of the famous prehistoric saga again follows the famous trio - Ice Age's Manny, Diego, and Sid - who together embark upon their greatest adventure after cataclysm sets an entire
continent adrift.Separated from the rest of the herd, they use an iceberg as a makeshift ship, which launches them on an epic seafaring quest. Manny and the gang are challenged like never before to become heroes and do the impossible, as they encounter exotic sea creatures, explore a
brave new world, and battle ruthless pirates. And Scrat's reunion with his cursed nut catapults him to places no prehistoric squirrel has gone before. And as you can imagine, Scrat's futile chase after his beloved nut actually causes the continents separating and creating global changes.
ICE AGE CAST
The cast is again lead by Ray Romano as Manny the mammoth, John Leguizamo is the adorkably irritating primordial sloth Sid, while Denis Leary gives voice to sabre-toothed tiger Diego. Queen Latifah
is Ellie, Manny's wife, Jennifer Lopez gives voice to a smilodon Shira, and Chris Wedge gives Scrat, the prehistoric squirrel, what little voice he has while trying to dig out his beloved nut. Peter Dinklage and
Nicki Minaj are guest stars in the voice cast, Nicki being Hailey, a woolly mammoth, and Dinklage being Gutt, a Gigantopithecus and the pirate captain. Keke Palmer plays Peaches, Manny and Ellie's teenage daughter, while rap star Drake is Ethan, a woolly mammoth who takes a liking to Peaches
ICE AGE TIDBITS
Originally, the story was rumored to involve Manny, Sid, Diego, Ellie and Scrat frozen solid and accidentally defrosted in a museum in present day. The film was to be called "Ice Age: Th4w". It is interesting
that each of the previous parts of the franchise has earned more than its predecessor. The first ICE AGE earned $383.3 million worldwide in 2002. It was followed in 2006 by ICE AGE MELTDOWN which
collected $655.4 million. That was topped again by ICE AGE DAWN OF THE DINOSAURS' amazing $884.8 million in 2009.The films had much more success around the world, since non-American public is more family oriented when it comes to movies. Brilliant Irish/British band THE WANTED known for their amazing hits "All Time Low", "Glad You Came" and "Warzone" will sing their latest extremely cheerful single "Chasing the Sun" as the lead song in the movie.

  1. Never knew it was going to take place in present day. That would be kind of a neat idea, maybe for the next one. As of course if this one keeps making more like the others, there will be another encore. They may make more but they weren't as good the farther they went along. Outside the U.S. is more family friendly with movies? Who knew?..haha

    1. yep, they might save the idea for next time if this one does good at the box office.
I actually thought all of the films in the series had great quality offering something warm and friendly in today's world of morbid dark knights and hunger gamers.

    2. Yeah they had the quality but I just found they lost it a bit with each one, still liked them but as with any series the first is usually the best and that's what I found with this one. Although they never went down hill anywhere near like Shrek or anything like that. I'll take them over Hunger Games and crap Twilight any day of the week.

    3. I've never understood the great success of SHREK and TOY STORY

    4. I liked the first Shrek, but lost interest after that. Toy Story I couldn't stand. My daughter and I rented it and after the first 15 minutes turned it off. And this was when she was a little girl and she hated it.

    5. I liked Shrek 1 and 2, 3 and 4 were crap. Toy Story I liked them all though. To each their own I guess.

I totally don't get TOY STORY, possibly because it's with American toys and we didn't really grow up with those so we don't get the sentiment...

  11. Thank you for putting that band vid in there darling. You knew I'd love it. I know there are going to be a lot of people saying "Oh no, not another sequel." But with Ice Age, I've come to love the characters and their relationships with each other. In a world where the most despicable of human traits are lionized it's good to see a film where loyalty and friendship are virtues one would want.

Those hideous "reality" shows that came out post 9/11 really began to destroy the fabric of America. I don't know why the media chose to go in that direction after such a horrible tragedy. I did read though that market analysts did a lot of work before the identified reality telly as a "new direction that would capture the minds of Americans"

    1. some of the band members are Irish :) and their latest WARZONE song is remake of that Nikki Kavanaugh song FALLING I played you before :) And the violins in their ALL TIME LOW are breathtaking.
That's exactly why we love ICE AGE so much, sister.
MTV is the main one to blame for the stupidization of the young people with their utterly stupid shows like JACK ASS, JERSEY SHORE and all others. Watching American TV is sometimes like watching a channel straight from hell.

  16. The first Ice Age I saw was Ice Age 3. Then I bought the other ones, too, but I still don't like the first one. I think it's because of the human baby. Just didn't buy it. (Even though I did, I know...) I'm pretty sure 4 is gonna be good.
