We are going sf all the way today, starting with the trailer for Netflix new post apocalyptic movie THE MIDNIGHT SKY in which George Clooney plays Augustine Lofthouse, a lonely scientist in the Arctic, who races to stop astronaut Sully (Felicity Jones) and her fellow astronauts from returning home to a mysterious global catastrophe. Kyle Chandler, Demian Bichir and Ethan Peck also star in the film which will stream on Netflix two days before Christmas, December 23rd, directed by George Clooney as well.This is his first movie role in four years.

A few weeks ago your trusted spy informed you that Rupert Penry Jones will play Ellie Bamber's uncle in period set drama PRISONERS OF PARADISE and now she's getting a hot aunty too in Rhona Mitra! The movie, set to start shooting next month at Mauritius, is set in 1925, and follows 17 year old orphan Lucy Gladwell (Ellie Bamber) who is sent from England to live under the guardianship of her uncle George Huyton (Rupert Penry Jones). Ghosts of War were shot over in Bulgaria

starring Brenton Thwaites, Theo Rossi, Skylar Astin, Kyle Gallner, and Alan Ritchson next to Billy Zane and Matthew Reese. It will be available before that on DirectTV virtually from June 18th. This period set horror thriller follows five battle hardened American soldiers assigned to hold a French Chateau near the end of World War II. Formerly occupied by the Nazi high command, this unexpected respite quickly descends into madness when they encounter a supernatural enemy far more terrifying than anything seen on the battlefield. The film was directed by Eric Bress.

The film which was directed and written by Gavin Rothery, and shot over in Hungarian capital Budapest (the above mentioned Ghosts of War was shot in Bulgaria), has the story set in 2038: George Almore is working on a true human equivalent AI. His latest prototype is almost ready. This sensitive phase is also the riskiest. Especially as he has a goal that must be hidden at all costs: being reunited with his dead wife.

Today I'm reminding you of four films that are coming to cinemas this month, starting with THE LOFT which opens January 23rd with a hunky cast lead by Karl Urban, Wentworth Miller and James Marsden in the story of five married guys who conspire to secretly share a penthouse loft in the city, a place where they can carry out hidden affairs and indulge in their deepest fantasies. But the fantasy becomes a nightmare when they discover the dead body of an unknown woman in THE LOFT, and they realize one of the group must be involved. Paranoia seizes them as everyone begins to suspect one another. Friendships are tested, loyalties are questioned and marriages crumble as the group is consumed by fear, suspicion and murder in this relentless thriller. Matthias Schoenaerts and Rhona Mitra also star. 

 'BLACK SEA' HIDES

SECRETS FOR JUDE LAW
Coming out the same date is Jude Law's BLACK SEA suspenseful adventure thriller directed by Academy Award winner Kevin Macdonald, centring on a rogue submarine captain (two-time Academy Award nominee Jude Law) who pulls together a misfit crew to go after a sunken treasure rumoured to be lost in the depths of the BLACK SEA. As greed and desperation take control onboard their claustrophobic vessel, the increasing uncertainty of the mission causes the men to turn on each other to fight for their own survival.

 TAKING OF THE TIGER MOUNTAIN

Suspense will also be seen this January in THE TAKING OF TIGER MOUNTAIN Chinese epic directed by legendary Tsui Hark! This magnificent 3D epic has the story based on Qu Bo's novel which describes a true event from Chinese history focusing on a communist soldier who went deep undercover amongst a gang of remote bandits in order to take them down from within. The cast includes Zhang Hangyu, Han Geng, Lin Gengxin and Tong Liya. Check out the extremely captivating and mindblowingly stunning trailer below showing the enchanting wintery setting of the movie! The novel has also been turned into a  very popular Beijing opera!
