Forgive me for shedding a tear, but it seems our dearly beloved Welsh hunk Luke Evans will again play a negative character! He's just scored a lead role in Noel Clarke's 10x10, a thriller in which he will be Lewis, a seemingly ordinary guy who under the surface hides a singular obsession – revenge – and the focus of his obsession is Cathy (Kelly Reilly). In broad daylight, he kidnaps her and takes her to his home, where he’s built a soundproofed cell measuring 10 feet by 10 feet and where he plans to extract a dark secret from her past. But as his motive begins to unravel, it becomes clear that Cathy is a formidable match for her kidnapper.

You will next see Luke playing Gaston in Disney's live action Beauty and the Beast, while Reilly leads Sky's new epic TV series Britannia set in Roman times.

After just giving birth to her second child two weeks ago with her husband Jason Sudeikis, lovely Olivia Wilde will jump into action. She will lead A VIGILANTE a movie directed and written by Sarah Daggar Nickson playing The Woman, a secretive figure who rids victims of their domestic abusers! Next year Wilde will also join Logan Marshall Green, Whoopi Goldberg, Chloe Sevigny and James Franco in BLACK DOG, RED DOG, a movie about the life of poet Stephen Dobyns as he deals with his relationships with women and with mortality, from his childhood to his time as a young journalist and then his transition to poetry.

2ND SEASON TRAILER IS HERE

Netflix has released the first trailer for the second season of their popular FULLER HOUSE sitcom which will be focused on different holidays celebrated  among the members of the Tanner, Fuller and Gibler families, such as Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s Eve. Returning to the small screens for the second year, the family experiences a new year of life’s moments — the start of a new school year, budding romances and coming together for the holidays. Candace Cameron Bure, Jodie Sweetin, Juan Pablo Di Pace, Michael Campion, Elias Harger, Scott Weinger and John Brotherton all return to their roles from December 9.

QUEEN ANNE'S COURT AS 'THE FAVOURITE' OF THE MONARCH

Although only a brief time ago I've reported that Kate Winslet will star in Yorgos Lanthimos period set drama THE FAVOURITE, it seems that after she accepted the role in WW2 movie THE LIVES OF LEE MILLER, her role might go to Rachel Weisz who already worked with the director on THE LOBSTER. She would play countess Sarah, THE FAVOURITE confidante of Olivia Colman's Queen Anne while Emma Stone would be an impoverished, distant relative of Sarah, who gains a position at court tending to the Queen! Weisz already has another period set movie MY COUSIN RACHEL among her future projects.

THE PLOT OF THE MOVIE  
The movie follows the political machinations and the fight for influence at the court, behind the scenes during the reign of Queen Anne, the last monarch of the House of Stuarts, taking place between the end of the 17th century and first years of the 18th century!

In early 1920s Copenhagen, the illustrator and artist Gerda Wegener (Alicia Vikander) asks her husband, Einar Wegener (Eddie Redmayne), to stand in for a female model. The popularity of the portraits leads to Gerda painting her husband in further pictures as a woman. Einar develops an attraction for a female physical appearance and begins living as a woman named Lili Elbe. Ultimately Elbe becomes the first ever recipient of male to female sex reassignment surgery, and Gerda supports her decision, although their marriage becomes strained when Gerda comes to the realization that Lili is no longer the person she married. A childhood friend of Lili, Hans Axgil (Matthias Schoenaerts), shows up and forms a complex love triangle with the couple.

 CAESAR NOVELS TO BE ADAPTED

Two book adaptations today, starting with the news coming from 'Deadline' on Conn Iggulden's famous EMPEROR novels being bought by Summit Entertainment for big screen adaptation as a trilogy about the rise of Julius Caesar and his best friend and eventual mortal enemy Marcus Brutus. EMPEROR will be based on Iggulden's 'The Gates Of Rome' and 'The Field Of Swords' — that establish the relationship between Caesar and Marcus from boyhood. The books cover their rise to the top of the Roman Empire, and the political and romantic entanglements that culminate in the Roman Senate. The final novel covers the revenge taken on Caesar’s murderers by Octavius and Mark Antony. In the first film, Julius and Marcus bond at boyhood and grow into warriors who become politically ambitious and powerful enough to be regarded as threats by the establishment.

'EVERYTHING, EVERYTHING'

The second one is coming from my publisher who just nabbed the rights for my country and MGM who will turn Nicola Yoon's EVERYTHING EVERYTHING hit YA novel into a movie written by J. Mills Goodloe who earlier this year wrote brilliant AGE OF ADALINE! The book which is out next week and has already been sold in 21 countries, follows Maddy, a teen who has severe combined immunodeficiency, a rare disease that causes her to be allergic to practically everything. She’s spent 17 years hiding out in her home, only seeing her mother and her nurse, Carla. But when a boy named Olly moves in next door, Maddy begins to fall in love. The story is told through vignettes, diary entries, texts, charts, lists, illustrations...

The Lone Scherfig helmed big screen adaptation of Lissa Evans novel will revolve around a British movie crew who try to boost people's morale after the infamous London Blitz devastated the area during World War II.

Only a few weeks ago I announced the work on the remake of British 70's sitcom DAD'S ARMY and now, with the movie production already under way, we have the first photos with the stellar cast which includes   Catherine Zeta Jones, Bill Nighy, Michael Gambon and Toby Jones! The hilarious comedy follows a provincial British Home Guard in 1944 as they ready themselves to invade France at the height of   World War II. As they spend their days, mostly doing nothing productive, their laziness is interrupted by the arrival of the sassy and mysterious female journalist into their town!

'FREE FIRE' FINDS STELLAR CAST

Speaking of fights and the 70s, you will see those in Ben Wheatley's FREE FIRE movie which has rounded up a rather stellar cast lead by currently the biggest epic star Luke Evans (DRACULA UNTOLD, HOBBIT, CROW) alongside Olivia Wilde, Armie Hammer, Cillian Murphy! The story is set in 1978 Boston, following a woman named Justine (Olivia Wilde) who has set up a meeting between two Irishmen (Cillian Murphy and Michael Smiley) and a gang lead by Luke Evans and Armie Hammer for an arms deal. When shots are fired before the deal is made, the meeting turns into a deadly game of survival.

Ben Wheatley is currently finishing another 70's movie HIGH RISE which also stars Luke Evans next to a starstudded ensemble cast including Tom Hiddleston, Jeremy Irons and James Purefoy!
