Henry and Jake play two extraction specialists who have to designate a route of escape for a senior female negotiator. Kristofer Hivju, Emmett J. The novel follows four women who cross paths in Monte Carlo, each, with their own story of betrayal. Together, the women form a secret pact, disguised as a book club, to exact revenge. He will star in LOVE OF YOUR LIFE in which Margaret Qualley (who like Patrick also has a famous parent, as her mother is Andy McDowell) will play a woman who has lost her husband and goes on a journey to find new meaning in life, with our dear Schwarzenegger appearing in the film as her ex-partner and friend.

 

 GLEN POWELL TO BE A FIREFIGHTER

Another of our favourite blond hunksters, Glen Powell also has another new role up set up for himself: according to Deadline, Ron Howard has set him as the lead star of his new untitled firefighter movie in which the story follows disparate childhood friends, now elite firefighters, who must rekindle their fractured relationship when a series of deadly fires sweep across Texas.

Deadline also reports that Amazon MGM Studios have paid a large sum for CODE BLACK short story which Jake Gyllenhaal will produce into a film and and probably star as the country’s top heart surgeon who is flown to D.C. to perform a high-stakes operation, finding himself led into a trap where his guile and genius become the only way to stop a plot that threatens both his family and the nation.

Well that is quite a hot tandem, isn't it? As Deadline reports, being presented over at Cannes will be an untitled new Guy Ritchie action movie in which Henry Cavill (who celebrates his 40th birthday today) and Jake Gyllenhaal will play two extraction specialists who must plan an escape path for a high-level female negotiator. In the film laced with Ritchie’s trademark humor, Eiza Gonzalez will play the female lead. Ritchie has recently finished WWII movie The Ministry of Ungentlemanly Warfare which has both Cavill and González in the cast.

After Ainbo, which became an international hit, Peru is preparing another animated adventure movie for us titled KAYARA. The female oriented CGI film feature set against the backdrop of the Incan civilisation will be directed by Cesar Zelada. The Spanish Peruvian co-production follows the adventures of a young Inca woman who aspires to join the elite male-only Chasqui messengers. He will also produce the film based on the graphic novel from 2018 that brings an apocalyptic science fiction story of protagonist Nathan Cole, a man who makes daily trips to try and rescue those still living in the apocalyptic hellscape of Oblivion, a part of Philadelphia lost a decade ago along with 300,000 of its citizens. The movie, which has a potential to become a possible franchise, poses a question: When faced with a cataclysmic event that permanently alters our lives, what would we choose to save?

If you're in the mood for some Western (a number of those are currently shooting in Hollyweird for some reason), you'll be happy to hear that Benjamin Bratt has joined Christoph Waltz and Willem Dafoe in DEAD FOR A DOLLAR. Currently shooting in New Mexico, the Walter Hill directed movie follows a famed bounty hunter (Waltz) who runs into his sworn enemy (Dafoe), a professional gambler and outlaw that he had sent to prison years before, while on a mission to find and return the wife (Rachel Brosnahan) of a successful businessman who is being held hostage in Mexico. Standing in the way is an infamous gangster (Bratt) who gets a piece of any action that happens along the Mexican border. Brandon Scott and Warren Burke also star.

Amy will also star as Simard, a world renowned scientist and ecologist who first discovered how trees communicate underground through an immense web of fungi. Some deem that her work has forever changed the way we look at trees.

STRANGE NEW THINGS is based on Michel Faber's book set in the near future, when Earth is becoming unsustainable. Richard Madden stars as Peter, a priest who is sent into space to help found a new colony, but what he ends up discovering not only puts his faith to the test but life as we know it. Osment will play Sy, a man who used to grow large quantities of marijuana before being recruited to work on the new colony as chief botanist.

With voices from Dwayne Johnson and Nicole Scherzinger, MOANA follows an adventurous teenager who sails out on a daring mission to save her people. During her journey, Moana meets the mighty demigod Maui, who guides her in her quest to become a master wayfinder. Together, they sail across the open ocean on an action packed voyage, encountering enormous monsters and impossible odds, and along the way, Moana fulfills the ancient quest of her ancestors and discovers the one thing she's always sought: her own identity.

There is also the first trailer for Tom Ford's highly stylised thriller drama NOCTURNAL ANIMALS  starring Amy Adams, Jake Gyllenhaal, Aaron Johnson, Michael Shannon, Isla Fisher, Armie Hammer and out this November.

The big screen adaptation of the 1993 novel by Austin Wright, NOCTURNAL ANIMALS is a story about a successful Los Angeles art gallery owner whose life is jarred when she receives a manuscript written by her first husband, who she has not seen in years. As the woman reads the book, she is forced to face the dark past.

As you know Chris Evans starring post apocalyptic movie SNOWPIERCER was our absolutely favourite movie back in 2013 and now its talented director Bong Joon Ho is finally preparing a new movie which will also have Hollywood names mixed in with Asian stars in the cast. To premiere globally on Netflix next year OKJA will see Lily Collins, WALKING DEAD's Steven Yeun, Tilda Swinton, Paul Dano, Jake Gyllenhaal, Devon Bostick, Byun Heebong and Yoon Je Moon starring in a story which follows Mija, a young girl who must risk everything to prevent a powerful, multi-national company from kidnapping her best friend – a massive animal named Okja. Mija will be played by Seohyun An!

Speaking of sf, the second trailer has been released for this summer's biggest sf adventure sequel INDEPENDENCE DAY: RESURGENCE which, starring Liam Hemsworth, Jeff Goldblum, Bill Pullman, hits theatres exactly twenty years after the original one. Those are the same 20 years we had to prepare for the second arrival of Aliens!
