NEW MITFORD SISTERS SERIES IMAGES

Although their life has been already adapted a couple of times by BBC, famous Mitford sisters are getting a new period set series at UKTV's channel Drama and Britbox in USA and today we have new images as the series will start June 19th. The six part series OUTRAGEOUS will depict the British socialite sisters, whose antics in the 1930s made their family one of the most well known in the UK. Several infamously supported fascism and the Nazis, though two became staunch opponents of the ideology. Two became well known authors. It will be a story of family betrayals, public scandal, political extremism, personal heartache and even imprisonment. Given that the air date is relatively soon, I am hoping we will get a trailer soon.

  THIS BRAND NEW SERIES WILL FOLLOW

the six upper-class Mitford sisters — Nancy (Bessie Carter), Diana (Joanna Vanderham), Unity (Shannon Watson), Jessica (Zoe Brough), Deborah(Orla Hill), Pamela (Isobel Jesper Jones) — who were the Kardashians of the 1930s, when they both dazzled and scandalized English society. Nancy was a writer who wrote novels including “The Pursuit of Love” while Diana and Unity were fascists who were close to Hitler. Jessica was a communist, Pamela lived out the latter half of her life with a woman and Deborah became a duchess after marriage. Toby Regbo will play their brother Tom while Anna Chancellor and James Purefoy will be their mother and father. Joshua Sasse will star in the six part series as Oswald Mosley, Jamie Blackley as Peter Rodd, James Musgrave as Hamish Erskine, Calam Lynch as Bryan Guinness and Will Attenborough as Joss.

FIRST TRAILER FROM FAMILY ADVENTURE

 Set for January 2026 release over in Russia is family fantasy movie adventure BURATINO based on the famous story of Pinocchio from director Igor Voloshin with Aleksandr Yatsenko as Papa Karlo and our dear Aleksandr Petrov lending voice to cat Bazilio with Fedor Bondarchuk as Karabas Barabas.  It will be an old fairy tale in a new way. The story of everyone's favorite hero Pinocchio, his dad Carlo and their friends, told with the help of modern technology. The film is based on Alexei Tolstoy’s fairy tale “The Golden Key, or the Adventures of Pinocchio,” which takes place in the Kingdom of Tarabar following wooden doll Pinocchio, who goes through many adventures. New series starts tomorrow on Rossiya 1

After many different versions of series on his grandmother, legendary Catherine the Great, we are finally getting a series on ALEXANDER THE FIRST, the emperor of whole Russia and last year  I gave you first images from this sprawling historical saga which director Artyom Nasybulin was shooting over in St. Petersburg, but now I can tell you that as a part of Easter festive celebrations, Russian national broadcaster Russia 1 is ready to start airing the drama from tomorrow evening, April 21st. The show will also be available for streaming on Russian streamer Smotrim and you can check out the trailer

The title role is played by insanely gorgeous Evgeny Romantsov, whom we remember from Goalkeeper of Galaxy sf movie, and he will be accompanied by Anna Banshchikova, Gleb Bochkov, Polina Gukhman, Philip Ershov, Anastasia Krylova, Fyodor Lavrov, Angelina Poplavskaya, Anna Snatkina, Daniil Spivakovsky, Artyom Tkachenko, Vladislav Tsenev, Anna Chipovskaya and Yuri Chursin. I have heard that more than 4,000 costumes were used in the series. During the massive production of this high profile series the actors had to learn how to ride, use weapons and play the violin.

As Variety reports, Finn Wittrock will lead Mark Waters directed movie on famous HERSHEY chocolate with Alexandra Daddario playing his wife.

Wittrock will play Milton Hershey, who, alongside his wife Kitty, built a candy empire that powered a philanthropic legacy. In 1909, Milton and Kitty founded the Hershey Industrial School, which provided free education and housing to orphans and underprivileged children. Twenty years before his death, Milton transferred the majority of his fortune into the Milton Hershey School Trust, planting the seed for one of the wealthiest educational endowments in the country. In developing a town around their chocolate factory, the Hersheys also built theaters, recreation centers and public transportation for their workers.

Apple TV + has finished last month with the first image of Jason Momoa in his epic new series CHIEF OF WAR just two weeks ago and now we already have a new teaser and also some epic new images from the series that has the start date set for August 1st when it will launch with first two episodes and then continue streaming weekly with new episodes.

depicts the unification and colonization of Hawai’i from an indigenous point of view with Momoa playing warrior Ka’iana, as he tries to unify the islands before Western colonization in the late 18th century. Back then the four major kingdoms of Hawaii were constantly in a state of war. Legendary warrior Kaʻiana is pulled into battle when Seers and visions name him as the one who will fulfill an Ancient Prophecy that will bring peace to all of Hawaii. 

 

 WHO ELSE IS IN THE CAST?

Te Ao o Hinepehinga portrays Kupuohi, the wife of Ka’iana (Momoa). Kaina Makua is Kamehameha, the prophesied king who is destined to unite the warring kingdoms of the Hawaiian Islands. Moses Goods plays Moku, Chief Advisor to Kamehameha of Hawai’i and Ka’ahumanu’s (Luciane Buchanan) father. Siua Ikale’o portrays Nahi,’ Ka’iana’s  youngest brother. Brandon Finn plays Prince Kūpule, the son of King Kahekili (Temuera Morrison). James Udom is Tony, a runaway slave who befriends Ka’iana and finds a new home in Hawaii. Mainei Kinimaka portrays Heke, Kupuohi’s younger sister. Te Kohe Tuhaka plays Namake,’ one of Ka’iana’s younger brothers and an elite warrior.
