Variety has Today we are over in Romania, as I have a trailer for Sergiu Celibidache biopic THE YELLOW TIE in which John Malkovich plays the famous Romanian conductor. The movie spans seven decades of his life with Sean Bean, Ben Schnetzer, Charlie Rowe, Miranda Richardson and Anton Lesser also in the cast. It is out in UK cinemas October 9th. The movie spans seven decades

 the extraordinary life of Sergiu Celibidache (John Malkovich, Ben Schnetzer), one of the most celebrated classical music conductors of thetwentieth century. He was a unique artist, revered and misunderstood in equal measure. From his childhood in Romania under the draconian authority of adisciplinarian father (Sean Bean), to his painful flight from home to pursue his dream of a career in music, his struggle for survival in wartime Germany,and his rise, fall, and rise again, in an unimaginable career and life path, spanning seven decades and all four corners of the globe.

Channel 5 has, back in January, if you remember, announced a mini TV series adaptation of Graham Norton's book FOREVER HOME and the cast which includes tons of British small screen names such as Amy Nuttall, Douglas Henshall, Denise Welch, Kevin Whately, Samantha Bond, Lewis Cope, Jenny Walser, Shane Zaza and James Baxter, and now we have the first images from the new series which will air sometime later this year.

 

THE SERIES FOLLOWS THE STORY

of a second wife dealing with the memories of the woman who went before her! When her older partner Robert's dementia worsens, Carol Crottie starts to wonder if the reason he won’t leave his home has something to do with the whereabouts of his first wife, who ran off with Robert’s brother 20 years ago, leaving behind their two young children Kaden and Sally. When Carol discovers a long-dead body hidden in the basement of her home, the horrific realisation is undeniable – she's living with a killer. The story that her husband's first wife ran away never to be seen again now looks like a lie, and the fact he’s insisted on never selling the house suddenly makes sense. But one dark family secret is soon to be replaced by another.

 THE STORY OF THE FILM IS SET IN 1812.

 After the great Battle of Borodino, French troops enter Moscow. But... what's this?! The streets of Moscow are deserted. Yet Napoleon's army was accustomed to something quite different. Crowds of, if not enthusiastic, then at least curious citizens. This was the case in all the capitals of Europe. But in Moscow – no one! As one of Napoleon's adjutants later wrote, it was then that they began to realize they would lose the war to this people. Empty streets, cawing crows, smiles fading from the French faces. Napoleon's adjutant, Michel Clément, marches on Moscow with a personal goal: to avenge a distant Russian ancestor, whom Tsar Vasily III locked in the Kremlin Tower and starved to death. He hates Russians, considering them barbarians. In the Kremlin, he encounters the few remaining monks of the Chudov Monastery, who have decided to... kill the Antichrist, that is, Napoleon himself. They are joined by a young girl, Maria, who has infiltrated the Kremlin and is obsessed with vengeance for her dead brother. She falls in love with Michel Clément, who is unaware of her true intentions.

British Sky has shared a trailer for their new six part thriller TV series WAR with Dominic West as tech titan Morgan Henderson and Sienna Miller as his estranged wife in a series that follows two of London’s most prestigious rival firms, Cathcarts and Taylor & Byrne, as they go head-to-head in the divorce case of the century. Each side is certain they’ll win. But as the case spirals and loyalties fracture, reputations are on the line, and everyone’s  playing to win. Joining West and Miller are Phoebe Fox and James McArdle as legal partners Serena Byrne and Nicholas Taylor, who represent Carla. In Morgan's corner is Beatrice Ubosi (Nina Sosanya) and St John Smallwood (Pip Torrens). Archie Renaux plays a young lawyer caught between them and Celia Imrie also stars. This is just the beginning as the series has been ordered for two seasons - season one’s explosive case is the first in an anthology of headline-making legal battles.
