In latest news from Australia, one of our favourite of their actors Ryan Corr is set to lead new family comedy movie KANGAROO based on true events around the man who opened a Kangaroo sanctuary in Alice Springs. Ryan Corr will star as ex-TV weather presenter Chris Masterman, who becomes stranded in an Outback town after a car accident and forms an unlikely friendship with an 11-year-old Indigenous girl, Charlie, played by newcomer Lily Whiteley. They work together to rescue and rehabilitate orphaned joeys in a remote but stunning Outback community, an endeavour that proves to be life-changing for them both.

The first to release a trailer for one of their new multicamera sitcoms is NBC who have sent us a teaser for HAPPY PLACE with which Reba McEntire returns to the small screens together with Melissa Peterman. 

 

  WHAT'S THE STORY?

 Arriving this Autumn, it will see Reba playing plays Bobbie who inherits her father’s restaurant and is less than thrilled to discover that she has a new business partner in her half-sister Isabella (Belissa Escobedo), she never knew she had. Isabella is an enthusiastic 20-something, who has studied psychology and loves to analyze people. She is thrilled to start working at the tavern and is full of “great” ideas about how to bring it to life. Peterman plays Gabby, a bartender who has worked at the tavern for quite some time. She is a bit needy and dramatic and would have loved to be Bobbie’s sister. The comedy will also star Pablo Castelblanco, Tokala Black Elk and Rex Linn. Dar Zuzovsky takes the lead role in the film

Two  years ago I told you first about this one and then I showed you first photos from Dutch director Michiel Van Erp costume movie drama A BEAUTIFUL IMPER- FECTION about Casanova and one of the women he loved. Now we have the first poster for the movie that does not have a release date nor a trailer yet.  With Jonah Hauer King and Dar Zuzovsky in the lead roles, the cast will also have Aneurin Barnard and Sam Hazeldine.  I am hoping we will get a trailer or at least a teaser soon, but until then you can enjoy the poster and the first images from this costume drama.

Airing officially on Russian national broadcaster as of Monday, May 6th is their six episode historical drama FIGHTERS: BATTLE FOR CRIMEA (Истребители. Битва за Крым)

 set in year 1944!

The fighter regiment of commander Alexander Romanov (Igor Petrenko) is being transferred to Anapa to strengthen air units in the upcoming offensive on Crimea. As a result of the air battle, Alexander manages to capture a valuable trophy - a German fighter of a new modification. The enemy plane is sent to one of the design bureaus near Moscow, where work is underway on the new Soviet fighter Yak-9U. By a fateful coincidence, Romanov himself soon ends up in the design bureau. Working on a new machine in a team of engineers and test pilots, Romanov lives with the dream of returning to the skies. Here he meets true love, regains faith in himself and the opportunity to be at the front again, in his regiment.

Tom Hiddleston is set as lead in new adventure movie TENZING about the inspirational life of Sherpa Tenzing Norgay and his summit of Mount Everest in 1953 alongside fellow outsider New Zealander Edmund Hillary. With Hiddleston as Sir Hillary, Willem Dafoe will star as the English expedition leader, Colonel John Hunt. 

 

Tibetan born Tenzing Norgay, alongside New Zealand mountaineer Edmund Hillary, both outsiders on a British Expedition, defied insurmountable odds to achieve what was once thought impossible, reaching the summit of the world’s tallest mountain, Mount Everest. After six previous attempts, Tenzing risked everything for one final venture. He had to navigate treacherous politics and perilous weather as he embarked on the most significant climb of his life. Through it all, he did so with humor, warmth, and generosity towards his fellow climbers, but also deep reverence and respect for the sacred Mother Goddess of his Mountain, Chomolungma. The actor who will play Tenzing has not been cast yet.

LEADS FOUND FOR NEW JURASSIC PARK

 After six previous films in the series have scored more than six billion dollars at the box offices around the world, JURASSIC PARK franchise is getting a reboot with completely new actors and although the plot is still under wraps, we know that Jonathan Bailey, Scarlett Johansson and Manuel Garcia Rulfo have been set as leads. Gareth Edwards is directing for summer 2025 release.

RED, WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE SEQUEL

After a huge success over at Prime Video where it became their third most watched romantic film of all times, their lovely gay romance movie RED, WHITE AND ROYAL BLUE will be getting a sequel with Nicholas Galitzine, as prince of England, and Taylor Zakhar Perez, as the son of US president , set to return as the love couple. SHOGUN GETTING A SECOND SEASON

Also a success story, both critical and in viewership was FX limited series SHOGUN which will no longer be a limited series as it is getting a second season. Hiroyuki Sanada, who is also the producer, will return as Lord Yoshii Toranaga, whose journey to become shōgun and lead Japan to an era of peace was chronicled in the 10-episode adaptation of James Clavell’s novel.

Friend stars as a ruthless Nazi officer who becomes obsessed with hunting him down.

Kristen Johnston is returning to TV sitcoms

Kristen Johnston has joined new Chuck Lorre sitcom at Netflix in which Leanne Morgan will play Leanne whose life takes an unexpected turn when her husband of 33 years leaves her for another woman. Starting over when you’re a grandmother and in menopause isn’t exactly what she had in mind, but with the help of her family she will navigate this new chapter with grace, dignity and jello salad. In the 16 episode sitcom Johnston will play her completely opposite sister Carol who twice divorced with no kids, and if there’s a choice between going to church and going to a bar, she will always choose the latter. Despite their differences, Carol is fiercely loyal to her sister and is her ride or die.

The close friendships in this seemingly peaceful street prove to be not quite as harmonious as they seem. Though he’s never had the courage to admit it to himself, let alone his family, church and community, Angelo is gay. Well, this one is finally coming to the cinemas June 14th so we have received the first trailer for FIREBRAND historical movie drama with Jude Law as King Henry VIII and Alicia Vikander as his last wife Katherine Parr. The film that also stars Amr Waked, Eddie Marsan, Simon Russell Beale, Sam Riley and Patsy Ferran, did not receive well criticism after it's festival run, but we will judge for ourselves. Check out the trailer below and tell us what you think, is it lacking in fire and spark like the critics say? The film did have a rather long way to theatres from changing the lead actress to changing the title.
