FOR LOVE AND HONEY

The first month of summer will be interesting over at Hallmark as they have decided to dedicate their weekend movie premieres to love and lovely food

For Love and Honey opens June at Hallmark

from around the globe, so our romantic couples will be savoring both love and some nice international dishes in the upcoming Hallmark originals. It all starts the first weekend of June, when we will be awarded and treated with a new movie from fan favourite Andrew Walker. Saturday June 1st will bring the premiere of his new love melodrama FOR LOVE AND HONEY. This film will see Margaret Clunie playing the role of Beekeeper Eva  who uncovers an ancient fresco while rescuing a hive. Andrew Walker plays Austen, a visiting archeologist, who thinks it is key to his research, so he persuades Eva to help him on his quest across Malta.

 

SAVORING PARIS

The weekend after that is taking us from Malta over to France, or their capital city Paris to be precise. What better place for some unexpected romance? June 8th will see the premiere of SAVORING PARIS with Bethany Joy Lenz and our dear Stanley Weber.Disillusioned with her life, Ella embarks on a soul-searching journey to Paris where she navigates love, self-discovery and cheese amidst the enchanting backdrop of The City of Love.

 

A GREEK RECIPE FOR ROMANCE

Mid of June will take us where half of Europe goes in the scorching hot summer months - to Greece. June 15th will bring us A GREEK RECIPE FOR ROMANCE with Danielle C. Ryan and Rafael Kariotakis in the lead roles and a romantic couple. After a recent setback, Abby heads to Greece to visit her mom and decide what's next. While there, she meets Theo and they team up to open a restaurant. But will Abby be able to stay? 

TWO SCOOPS OF ITALY

Of course, what would summer be without Italy and without ice cream and we have both in TWO SCOOPS OF ITALY which lands at Hallmark, Saturday June 22nd with Hunter King and Michele Rosiello feeling some love in bella Italia. When an American chef travels to a quant village in Italy for inspiration, she falls in love with the flavors, culture, gelato, and the Italian gentleman who helps her discover it all.

also star in A DANGEROUS FRIENDSHIP (Une amitié dangereuse) four episode historical mini series. It will follow two women, young and beautiful, who form a strong friendship. Marie de Rohan (Kelly Depault), Duchess of Chevreuse, is lively and cheerful, free in body and mind, she collects adventures. Anne of Austria (Stephanie Gil) is the Queen of France. A prudish and shy woman who, married too young and abandoned by her husband King Louis XIII (Jeremy Gillet), suffers from neurasthenia. Freddie Dennis will play Duke of Buckingham, while our Stanley Weber will be duke of Chevreuse. Maya Sansa will be Maria de Medici, with gorgeous Jack Laskey as Holland. The series is done for France Television based on the books by my favourite Juliette Benzoni.

Something epic for you today: Sky Vision has finally released the first trailer for their upcoming historical ten part series BRITANNIA and I cannot say I'm thrilled by it, I wasn't amazed by the camera angles in it, it is confusing and chaotic, lacks in visual attractiveness and casting Zoe Wanamaker in a Roman Era set series is still ridiculous to me, but I'm willing to give it a go! To air sometime this year is stars Kelly Reilly as Celtic Princess Kerra, the fearless and strong minded daughter of Pellenor, King of the Cantii. Her independent streak puts her at odds with her family, but when the Romans invade, she will have to choose between her own feelings, her tribal duty and the demands of the druids.

CELTIC QUEENS AND DRUIDS
Sky's most ambitious drama ever, it's packed with action and emotion and is set in 43AD, when BRITANNIA was a country ruled by powerful Druids and warrior queens, it follows the reluctant rise to power of Kerra (Kelly Reilly), the daughter of the King of the Cantii. SERIES STARTS THIS JULY!

Period set projects today to end the week! TNT has finally revealed the airing date for their fun new series WILL which mixes historical setting and story with modern music. The ten episode series, starring Laurie Davidson as young William Shakespeare, will start airing July 10! Shekhar Kapur directs with the cast also including Olivia DeJonge, Ewen Bremner, Colm Meaney, Mattias Inwood, William Houston, Lukas Rolfe, Max Bennett!

WILL tells the wild story of young William Shakespeare's arrival onto the punk rock theatre scene in 16th century London, the seductive, violent world where his raw talent faced rioting audiences, religious fanatics and raucous side shows. It's a contemporary version of Shakespeare's life, played to a modern soundtrack that exposes all his recklessness, lustful temptations and brilliance.

CASTS JESSICA MCNAMEE AND FAN BINGBING IN SHARK MOVIE

Well, here's a pretty cast for you: gorgeous Jessica McNamee and Chinese star Fan Bingbing have joined Jason Statham in 2018 movie MEG about prehistoric 20 ton shark carcharodon megalodon! Based on Steve Alten novel, it follows an international underwater observation program, led by Chinese scientists, which comes under attack by an unknown danger. After their deep sea submersible craft is trapped at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest spot in the Pacific Ocean, this team is in need of rescue. Jason Statham will be a former Navy captain and expert diver, who has actually faced this massive shark before years earlier and was forced to abort and abandon half his crew. Megalodon was able to kill a T-Rex in matters of seconds.

 'BRITANNIA' EPIC TV SERIES

I've already told you earlier this year that British Sky is preparing Roman era set historical series BRITANNIA and now the news arrives that US Amazon will co produce it with them! The ten episode series will star Kelly Reilly alongside The Walking Dead‘s David Morrissey with Zoë Wanamaker (Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone) and Stanley Weber (Outlander) also in the cast.

The story is set in 43 A.D. and charts the Roman invasion of what would become Great Britain. The determined, yet terrified, Roman Imperial Army returns to crush the Celtic heart of BRITANNIA, a mysterious land ruled by wild warrior women and powerful druids who can channel the forces of the underworld. Reilly and Wanamaker play arch-rivals Kerra and Antedia who must set aside their differences to combat the invasion, led by the towering figure of Aulus Plautius (Morrissey). Hugo Speer, Nikolaj Lie Kaas, Stanley Weber, Eleanor Worthington Cox and Ian McDiarmid will all star as well.

 'PAPILLON' REMAKE?

Remember how some time ago I told you that Charlie Hunnam will take over Steve McQueen's role in the remake of PAPILLON? Now, 'Deadline' reports that Rami Malek will take over Dustin Hoffman's role!

The original film was based on the memoirs of convicted felon and fugitive Henri Charriere. He was a petty criminal from the Parisian underworld who was unjustly convicted of murder in 1930s France. He staged an epic escape from Devil’s Island, a notorious penal colony in French Guiana in South America, aided by quirky counterfeiter Louis Dega who is supposed to be played by Malek. Their relationship starts with Charriere providing protection for Dega from fellow thug inmates and grows into a bond, then Degas agrees to finance Papillon’s prison escape. The remake will be set in modern times.
