It is quite a stellar cast that writer and director James Vanderbilt has gathered for his World War II trials movie drama NUREMBERG.  Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, Richard E. Grant, Leo Woodall, John Slattery, Lydia Peckham, Wrenn Schmidt, Lotte Verbeek, Colin Hanks, Mark O'Brien and Andreas Pietschmann all star in the film out this November and you can check out below the first teaser trailer. Crowe plays Nazi Hermann Göring, O’Brien will play Colonel John Amen, one of the chief interrogators at the trial, while Hanks will play Dr. Gustav Gilbert, a military psychiatrist assigned to evaluate the Nazis in the film that chronicles the eponymous trials held between 1945 and 1946 by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. The film will have its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival this year.

Well, here's a pretty cast for you: gorgeous Jessica McNamee and Chinese star Fan Bingbing have joined Jason Statham in 2018 movie MEG about prehistoric 20 ton shark carcharodon megalodon! Based on Steve Alten novel, it follows an international underwater observation program, led by Chinese scientists, which comes under attack by an unknown danger. After their deep sea submersible craft is trapped at the bottom of the Mariana Trench, the deepest spot in the Pacific Ocean, this team is in need of rescue. Jason Statham will be a former Navy captain and expert diver, who has actually faced this massive shark before years earlier and was forced to abort and abandon half his crew. Megalodon was able to kill a T-Rex in matters of seconds.

I've already told you earlier this year that British Sky is preparing Roman era set historical series BRITANNIA and now the news arrives that US Amazon will co produce it with them! The ten episode series will star Kelly Reilly alongside The Walking Dead‘s David Morrissey with Zoë Wanamaker (Harry Potter And The Sorcerer’s Stone) and Stanley Weber (Outlander) also in the cast.

The story is set in 43 A.D. and charts the Roman invasion of what would become Great Britain. The determined, yet terrified, Roman Imperial Army returns to crush the Celtic heart of BRITANNIA, a mysterious land ruled by wild warrior women and powerful druids who can channel the forces of the underworld. Reilly and Wanamaker play arch-rivals Kerra and Antedia who must set aside their differences to combat the invasion, led by the towering figure of Aulus Plautius (Morrissey). Remember how some time ago I told you that Charlie Hunnam will take over Steve McQueen's role in the remake of PAPILLON? Now, 'Deadline' reports that Rami Malek will take over Dustin Hoffman's role!

The original film was based on the memoirs of convicted felon and fugitive Henri Charriere. He was a petty criminal from the Parisian underworld who was unjustly convicted of murder in 1930s France. He staged an epic escape from Devil’s Island, a notorious penal colony in French Guiana in South America, aided by quirky counterfeiter Louis Dega who is supposed to be played by Malek. Their relationship starts with Charriere providing protection for Dega from fellow thug inmates and grows into a bond, then Degas agrees to finance Papillon’s prison escape. The remake will be set in modern times.

TO GIVE 'THE SLAP' IN NBC'S CONTROVERSIAL MINI SERIES

After an extremely slow beginning of the week in the movie news business, some TV updates for you today, people: 'Entertainment Weekly' writes that Zachary Quinto has joined the cast of THE SLAP eight episode mini series, which will be NBC's US version of Australian hit TV show. It's a complex family drama about what happens after a man slaps another couple’s misbehaving child. Quinto will play Harry, the slapper, married, with a 15-year-old son, a mechanic/dealer specializing in expensive European cars, lives with his family in a Brooklyn loft. Perennially angry but seemingly pleased with his life, Harry is a staunch believer in family and loyalty and never shies from picking a fight. However, Harry picks on the wrong guy when he slaps the horribly misbehaving child of another couple. Brian Cox will play a peacemaker in the family, with Peter Sarsgaard and Mary Louise Parker also in the cast.

USA Network has chosen Rami Malek as the lead in their new TV show MR. ROBOT in which he will play Elliot, a young programmer who suffers from a debilitating anti-social disorder and decides that he can only connect to people by hacking them.
NEW SITCOMS AT ABC
ABC has bought two new comedy series: COUCH DETECTIVE, about the exploits of a 30-something female “couch detective” who solves crimes based on her encyclopaedic knowledge of every true-crime TV special, police procedural and made for TV movie. NUCLEAR FAMILY, will, on the other hand, follow a pair of self professed altruists who adopted eight children from all over the world, some with special needs. Having bit off way more than they can chew, their radically different parenting styles have created a hurricane of teenage dysfunction, at the centre of which is their often overlooked only biological child.

THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE

ALEXA DAVALOS IS FEMALE LEAD

Meanwhile over at Amazon, Alexa Davalos has been cast as the female lead in their upcoming TV show THE MAN IN THE HIGH CASTLE, the small screen adaptation of Philip. K. Dick's novel which explores an alternative reality in which Nazi Germany and Japan won World War II and occupy the United States, with the East Coast controlled by the Nazis and the West Coast owned by Japan, and a chunk of the Midwest still up for grabs. Davalos will play Juliana, who lives in Japanese occupied San Francisco. She is fascinated by Japanese culture and has mastered the art of aikido, but her personal state of truce with the Empire Of Japan stops forever when her half sister Trudy is shot dead in front of her eyes by a Japanese soldier. Entrusted by Trudy with a black satchel containing a vital pro- Resistance propaganda film, Juliana heads east for Colorado, the secret headquarters of the Resistance, and the road ahead of her is very blurry and very dangerous.
