If you liked Top End Wedding movie six years ago you will be happy to hear it is getting a sequel but in the form of an eight part series TOP END BUB 

The series starts September 12th

set to launch on Prime Video September 12th with our dearest Gwilym Lee in the lead role. If you remember he and Miranda Tapsell played a couple trying to get married in the movie. 

 

 NOW IN THE SERIES Lauren and Ned are living their best life in the city, which is tragically interrupted when Lauren’s sister Ronelle dies in a car crash in the Top End. Rushing back to Darwin, Lauren and Ned are thrown into the chaos of Top End life with Lauren’s parents, Daffy and Trevor, and confronted with another curveball when they unexpectedly become the guardians of Ronelle’s lively and cheeky young daughter, Taya. The first season scored success for BBC in UK so the second season of wartime series SAS: ROGUE HEROES is ready to get back on the broadcaster this January and to MGM+ in USA. Gwilym Lee will lead the new series

series titled TOP END BUB over at Prime VIdeo Australia. The series will revisit Lauren (Miranda Tapsell), a dynamic Indigenous lawyer ticking off life goals in Adelaide, and her baker husband Ned (Gwilym Lee), who abandon city life for the Top End (where the outback meets the tropics) to raise Lauren’s recently-orphaned eight-year-old niece. He was definitely our favourite guy in Sky's epic saga Jamestown and I bet you love him currently as Brian May in Bohemian Rhapsody, and now our dear Gwilym Lee is joining Hulu's THE GREAT mini series in which Elle Fanning is playing young Russian empress Catherine II. Gwilym will play Grigor, the best friend and confidant of Russian emperor Peter to be played by Nicholas Hoult in the series which is currently shooting in UK and will depict Catherine the Great’s rise to power and her explosive relationship with husband Peter whom she overthrew from the throne with the help of her lovers from the imperial guard only to become Russia's longest ruling tzarina who will widen its territory and population. Phoebe Fox, Sacha Dhawan and Charity Wakefield will also star in the mini series.

The duo that brought you Sherlock series will also write and produce this one set in Transylvania in 1897, where the blood drinking Count Vlad is drawing his plans against Victorian London. As the producers say, hell has a new boss! Netflix will air the three 90 minute episode saga around the world with BBC airing it in UK and Ireland!
