TRAILER FOR NETFLIX NEW TV SERIES

Netflix has finally released a trailer for their new historical thriller mini TV series DEATH BYLIGHTNING which will arrive November 6th with Matthew MacFadyen and Michael Shannon leading the cast as American president James Garfield and his killer Charles Guiteau!

BASED ON THE NOVEL

Destiny Of The Republic by Candice Millard, the series follows Garfield  who was President in 1881 and was assassinated later that year, having previously served nine terms as a Congressman. He was elected as a Senator but declined this when he became President, despite having not sought the office. He was shot by Guiteau, who felt he had played a major role in Garfield’s election. Nick Offerman as vice president Chester Arthur, Betty Gilpin as the first lady Crete Garfield, Tuppence Middleton, Ben Miles, Kyle Soller will also appear in the cast of this period set series which arrives to the streamer next month.

It is quite a stellar cast that writer and director James Vanderbilt has gathered for his World War II trials movie drama NUREMBERG.  Russell Crowe, Rami Malek, Michael Shannon, Richard E. Grant, Leo Woodall, John Slattery, Lydia Peckham, Wrenn Schmidt, Lotte Verbeek, Colin Hanks, Mark O'Brien and Andreas Pietschmann all star in the film out this November and you can check out below the first teaser trailer. Crowe plays Nazi Hermann Göring, O’Brien will play Colonel John Amen, one of the chief interrogators at the trial, while Hanks will play Dr. Gustav Gilbert, a military psychiatrist assigned to evaluate the Nazis in the film that chronicles the eponymous trials held between 1945 and 1946 by the Allies against the defeated Nazi regime. The film will have its world premiere at Toronto International Film Festival this year.

Netflix has announced a very dull 2025 movie and series offer this week, and among them is new historical thriller mini TV series DEATH BY LIGHTNING which we first announced back in February last year when it was revealed that Matthew MacFadyen and Michael Shannon will lead the cast playing American president James Garfield and his killer Charles Guiteau, and now we have the first images from it.

STRANGERS based on it will also score success on the small screens when it launches August 18th on Hulu with first three episodes available at once and then the rest airing each week till the end of September. The eight episode series is created by legendary TV producer David E. Kelley! 

 

  NINE PERFECT STRANGERS follows nine strangers from the city who gather for a 10 day retreat at Tranquillum House, a secluded health and wellness resort which promises to transform and heal the guests who stay there. However, the resort is not what it seems to be and the guests are about

The series will air in eight episodes

to discover many secrets about each other and the resort's host, mysterious wellness guru Masha (Nicole Kidman). As healing begins, the guests begin to doubt the retreat’s unconventional methods. They came for massages and relaxation, not to face their own mortality.

 

Nine strangers on this even stranger therapy include Frances (Melissa McCarthy), Lars (Luke Evans), Tony (Bobby Cannavale), Carmel (Regina Hall), Napoleon (Michael Shannon), Jessica (Samara Weaving), Ben (Melvin Gregg), Heather (Asher Keddie) and Zoe (Grace Van Patten). BBC has revealed the first cast photo for their upcoming drama series TO WALK INVISIBLE which takes a new look at Bronte sisters, who, despite the obstacles they faced, came from obscurity to produce some of the greatest novels in the English language. Wuthering Heights author Emily Brontë is played by Chloe Pirrie, Jane Eyre author Charlotte by Finn Atkins with their youngest sister Anne played by Charlie Murphy. Their brilliant but reckless brother Branwell, whose destructive behaviour threatened to destroy his family, will be played by Adam Nagaitis. Jonathan Pryce plays their father.
